Broken Promises

My elderly mother contracted with Hands at Home to help her with care for her disabled husband and paid a $[removed] deposit. PRIOR to ANY services being rendered, my mother cancelled due to finding other care services. [name removed], the owner, called and left a VM promising to refund my mother $[removed] of her deposit, charging my mother a $[removed] cancellation fee. My mother called back giving Hands at Home and [name removed] the required information for the refund. That was two months ago. Despite repeated calls to both [name removed] phone as well as the company’s main line, my mother has still not been reimbursed. As someone on a fixed income, $[removed] is a lot of money for my father’s care. Breaking such a promise is shameful and abusing an elderly person who I’m sure [name removed] thinks she can just take advantage of to make a quick buck. Be forewarned!
