What stood out is the Activities. Because of variety of things to do. Communications is a little lacking but has been improving. Like that they are doing major improvements to the buildings. I did a lot of research before I decided and in my opinion this was the best choice.

I would definitely recommend to others. I would just add that the staff is very warm and welcoming and my family member is very happy there. We liked the fact that it operates as a nonprofit organization rather than a private company. We also liked its location and the diversity of residents.

What I like the most about the 75 State Street community is the clear communication between administrators and staff regarding policies. All alerts or policy changes that I am appraised of go to my son and daughter

I would say overall, our experience has been a positive one. We picked this one because of the price, and the fact that it was a nonprofit organization.

My mother moved into 75 State Street a year ago. Initially she was apprehensive and hoping for it to be a temporary placement while she recovered from an injury, she now is looking forwarding to spending the rest of her life there! The socialization with other residents and wide array of engaging activities have been a welcome surprise for her after years of living independently and more isolated. She no longer needs to worry about house chores (e.g., cleaning, maintenance, grocery shopping, cooking, laundry) and is receiving her personal care assistance with all of her daily needs that were often overlooked by her (e.g., regular bathing, assistance with compression stalking, medication maintenance). The staff have been superb in their communication, suggestions, and updates. Most of all, their kindness, compassion, and presence with my mother has been such a gift and relief. Finding 75 State Street is the best gift I have ever given her.

While many assisted living facilities were similar in amenities etc. ,75 State Street was the singular location that offered continuous service if and when a person's ability to self pay ceased. The ability to move only once was deciding factor in selection process. Staff is very friendly and professional. Capably answering all questions and providing information to make the move seamless for the NEW client.

In the center of Portland's downtown, 75 State Street is a wonderful senior living complex offering options for Independent & Assisted Living. My friend spent a number of years working at 75 State Street, and she is consistently impressed by the staff and residents there. Even my parents, who are currently residing at [removed], were encouraged by her to relocate there. You ought to relocate to 75 State Street if you or a loved one requires some additional assistance while still remaining autonomous and independent.

I toured 75 State Street and I wasn't impressed by this community. I knew that my loved one wouldn't be happy there. We chose another community because 75 State Street is also located in the city.

My older brother has been at 75 State Street for many years now, and has had nothing but a great experience. The staff have been uniformly warm and caring, the living quarters are clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect. They also do a great job with food and with activities. My other brothers and I are so happy we were able to find such a good place for him.

My loved one is very happy, comfortable, and is very safe in this community. The staff are very nice. The staff are good to work with and will answer the questions or address the concerns that the family may have. I feel they are approachable. There are three meals a day, laundry once a week, when needed and housekeeping once a week for the monthly fee. There are snacks in the hallway and there is always coffee available. There are additional services for a fee available. Games, exercise, movies, art appreciation, poetry club, outings, and more are some of the activities available for the residents to choose from. My loved one seems to enjoy the food. There is seafood, desserts, and the staff are willing to accommodate dietary restrictions. The community has lots of sunlight, and is in a great neighborhood.

Great community if wanting to live in downtown Portland. COVID protocols in place. Currently visitors must wear masks. Facility is undergoing updates to many areas, . At the time of tour, saw a few residents. they may be with family members on Saturday. No activities going one. [name removed] was very pleasant and answered questions. Everyone in community is treated like family. Customize meals if there is a dietary restriction. Laundry service is extra, if not able to do by self. Medication Management is done by staff at extra cost. Linen service can be done resident is capable, otherwise,by staff. Housekeeping 1 time a week. At this time, small air conditioner would be purchased by resident, to fit in windows. Maintainence people would set up AC. Find it awkward & inconvenient to park in downtown Portland. It would be the last option for my loved one.

[name removed] was friendly and well-prepared. She showed me what I wanted to see (a one-bedroom with full kitchen). I have also toured Ashton Gardens and liked its cleanliness and open-air possibilities. These tours are helpful in making me aware of my choices and ask myself about my preferences. For instance, why have a full kitchen when I would have to pay for the food to cook and also pay for three meals a day available in the dining room? I am finding these explorations both enjoyable and valuable.

75 State St is a very safe, caring, excellent place for independent and assisted living seniors. The facility is clean, warm, and comfortable. The food is excellent and there are activities for everyone. We have art, exercise, films, and educational classes taught by professionals. During this pandemic we have had no cases which says a lot. Best of all is the staff with health professional recreational experts, great chefs, and a highly competent maintenance staff. We are a loving fun community. My wife and I are 80 in assisted living and we love it here.

We haven't been able to go into the facility since COVID, but when we did get to go inside it was very clean, the community has just been renovated. The staff is excellent. They occasionally go to the grocery store, they go see movies, they have birthday parties. She even goes to the hair dresser. The residents always see happy. The food they provide is outstanding in the dining room, they get to sat with their friends. Now during COVID, They bring the meals to their room, which in return makes the food cold. The rooms provided are one room studios which are a little small. Everyone at this community is so nice, always saying hello. It made us feel comfortable moving mom in. It had an up beat warm feeling to it. The only reason we would move mom out of this facility would be if we could guarantee transition to main care insurance from private pay insurance, because right now she is currently on private pay.

Very much enjoyed the tour. [Name removed] is great. LOVED the balcony suite apartments! Definitely a contender. Only thing is it's an older looking environment, but that's ok.

It's very good. It's clean and the staff is friendly. No complaints so far. We are happy with them. We chose them because we had previous experience with another loved one, who lived there for twelve years.

My father died of stomach cancer a month ago but he wanted to get back to Maine, he liked State Street and we tried to keep him there, that's where he passed away. It was good there, they were extremely helpful, especially for me because I'm the only one here and it was very demanding towards the end. They did not demand as he got sicker and sicker that he leave so they worked with me and with hospice and it was very comfortable. It's never easy, but it was comfortable for him. I can't say enough for both Seventy-Five and hospice, they were extremely helpful to me and my family. They really stepped up and helped me all the way through. Towards the end, hospice was there 24 hours a day and they were there when I couldn't be and seventy five state street came daily and looked in on him through the evening as well.

Great location. I think this is the place for which I filled out an extensive preliminary application.
