We make the best use of technology, as our state-of-the-art safety monitoring system not only allows our staff to keep a close eye on your safety but also enables your loved ones to check-in on you 24/7 -- with each resident getting their own password protected web cam. This makes us stand apart from the rest, as we are always accountable to your safety and happiness. Come tour our beautiful home, or call us and see what we can offer you or your loved one. We welcome you to join our community’s family of friends!</p> <h3>Living Amenities</h3> <p>We are proud to be called “the bed and breakfast of senior living” in Conroe, Texas, with 16 total units that will make you feel right at home. We offer private and semi-private room options, with private bathroom options as well. Limited-mobility rooms and bathrooms are available to those with wheelchairs or walkers, with open-concept floor plans, grab bars, and wheelchair-accessible showers and tubs. Wireless electronic call pendants are given to residents, and rooms are equipped with webcams for private, family use. For our memory care patients we offer rooms equipped with wireless pressure pads on beds and chairs which act as motion detectors so we may keep track of everyone’s safety to the best of our ability. Residents are provided easy access to utilities such as heating and air conditioning, cable TV, high-speed internet, and wifi. Take comfort in knowing that while you are living in this home, everything will be taken care of.</p> <h3>Dining</h3> <p>Our cooking staff prepares three meals plus snacks per day. Our cooks take care to accommodate every dietary requirement and personal preference of each of our residents, examples being kosher, gluten-free, vegetarian, low/no salt, and low/no sugar options. We can even cater to all organic diets. Just let us know what you need. We also understand that everyone’s schedule is different, so we offer meals anytime. We have a lovely dining room where you can take your meals with friends, but we also provide room service if that is what you prefer.</p> <h3>Common Areas</h3> <p>Common areas, both inside and out, are designed with ease of movement in mind for limited mobility residents, and grounds are secured with alarm systems for the safety of all. Our home offers several spacious living areas, with TVs, entertainment centers, recliners, comfy leather couches, and wingback chairs. Natural lighting is never lost on us, as high windows surround all our spaces bringing in golden natural light. Our main living area is perfect for entertaining yourself and guests, and is complete with a grand piano against the backdrop of a floor-to-ceiling window which overlooks one of our manicured courtyard areas. Our outdoor yard area will put most others to shame, as its delicately landscaped scene is shaded by large arbor trees. Outdoor seating is available throughout our grounds and on our patio, for personal use or gathering with friends and family for a BBQ night. Take a stroll down our outdoor walking path and stop by our koi pond for a little life reflection. Our home is a dream of comfort and class in American living.</p> <h3>Activities</h3> <p>We know the importance of keeping the mind socialized, active, and entertained, and our care staff works to organize activities based upon all our resident’s interests and needs. We also love to engage with our residents as we see them as friends of our own. Some examples of the activities we like to participate in are games, puzzles, bingo, trivia nights, arts and crafts classes, festive holiday parties, and holiday activities like pumpkin carving, and outdoor BBQs. We have even been known to take an extended vacation off-site with a cruise together! The body is just as important to keep active, and we offer such activities as stretching and yoga classes, modified depending on the movement abilities of each resident. Pet therapy is also offered, because furry friends can’t help but activate our heart muscles!</p> <h3>Personal Services</h3> <p>Above &amp; Beyond provides a host of personal services and amenities for the convenience of all who call our community home. We offer shopping services to meet our residents’ personal needs as they arise. Housekeeping and laundry services are also provided within our home. Massage therapy is offered to all our residents as we want them to be as comfortable as possible while with us. Devotional services are offered at our community as well, for our spiritual or religious residents.</p> <h3>Local Area</h3> <p>Conroe Regional Medical Center is just four miles from our home to assure any residents with acute and emergency medical needs will be taken care of right away. The Woodcreek shopping center, with a variety of retail stores and tasty restaurants, is just 1.5 miles from us. For visiting family or friends of our residents, the Homewood Suites by Hilton in 3.4 quick miles from our home. Do you enjoy golfing and the country club lifestyle? If so, then the West Fork Golf and Country Club is 4.2 miles away. Antique hunting is not far away either, with Crossroads Antiques less than a mile down the road. And, for our museum lovers, the Heritage Museum of Montgomery County is only a little over a mile away.</p> <h3>Medical Services</h3> <p>Our trained caregiving staff will always be there throughout the day for any immediate care needs. Doctors are on-call in order to adjust medications or oversee care needs as they change. We have visiting occupational and physical therapists for residents who need specialized care for healing and maintaining a comfortable life. A dentist also visits our home to care for the healthy smiles of all our residents. Our care staff is trained to patiently handle residents who may have behavioral issues, by de-escalating situations with a kind and gentle demeanor. Staff is also trained to safely respond to wandering and exit-seeking behaviors associated with Alzheimer’s or dementia, and will calmly and keenly oversee such residents. Assistance is provided with transfers, incontinence care, and activities of daily living (ADLs), with everyone’s physical needs accounted for. Hospice and respite care are both provided in this home, as well.</p> <h3>Care Types Offered</h3> <p>Above and Beyond Assisted Living is licensed in the state of Texas as a Type B assisted living facility. These terms are defined as follows:</p> <h3>Assisted Living Facility</h3> <p>A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities:</p> <p><strong>Type A</strong>: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted.</p> <p><strong>Type B</strong>: A facility may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair.</p> <p><strong>Assisted Living Type C (Adult Foster Care)</strong>: 4-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program. The facility provides supervision and personal care services to residents.</p>
