Don't do it
it went from the frying pan into the fire so to speak. Don't move here. Staff only care about the money, not the people. For the price, nothing gets replaced, only patched. Run, do not walk from this place.

2 senior residents, approximately 2 days ago wife &I were sleeping at 2:00_2 :30 am,my wife heard a noise at front door & someone was trying to break into our apt! but did not gain entry because we had a security stick also,very unsettelilg and upsetting to say the least,called police,waited 2 hours fro Henrico police NEVER SHOWED UP! as we both work very early mornings,we got no sleep.filed a complaint with office,(what a joke)told us that we would have to pay $50.00 for a new lock to be installed!are you serious? this place is a dump!they cant keep any management here for very long,maybe a month or two and they are gone!mgmnt only cares about taking residents money,dont give a dam about safety,security,cleanliness of building or residents welfare! DONT MOVE IN HERE!no parking because of new assisted living complex building, male flasher across the street,all appliances are seriously outdated!filthy buildings,cant repair stair treads even after older gentleman fell down a flight of stairs,otside rear lights out ,very dark and unsafe,even to walk dog,creepy scary other residents!DO NOT RECCOMEND TO ANYONE IF YOU CARE OR LOVE THEM!WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER RENTED FROM IN AT LEAST 5 DIFFERENT STATES!

Not What it Seems!
I lived at Carriage Hill for two years. It is advertised as a 55+ Community, not a retirement community. In essence, numerous young people with children live in the community. When I left in 2015, additional fees were being imposed. Also, the sidewalks were cracked and buckled, making for a very unsafe environment for walkers and wheelchairs, not to mention pedestrian traffic. When issues were reported to the staff, they were pretty much ignored. I would definitely NOT recommend this community to seniors looking for a safe and caring environment.

I toured this community and found it to be warm and fitting for the price. Could use soom upgrades. The units are gas and electric which will be an adjustment for me switching from total electric. My tour was conducted by Karen, who was patient and through. The amenities appear to be great .

Nice place, with a few issues
Our main issue with this place is that it is not set up very well for handicapped or wheelchair-bound people. Many entranceways are very narrow, and there are a lot of single steps that make it difficult to navigate in a wheelchair. Also one thing I have noticed is that it is very easy to hear people moving around above you, if you are on a lower floor, maybe due to the building being a bit older.
But overall it is a nice place, and they have a few very nice features. The exercise area is quite nice, and they always got a lot of activities going on for residents and guests to get out and socialize and get to know the community. It is a nice secure building, as well.
