A nightmare

This home is likely a good fit for an elderly person who just needs help with day to day living. It is not however a good choice for anyone who is suffering the effects of dementia or Alzheimer's disease. In fact, this place was rather a nightmare--and that isn't hyperbole. I was in charge of the care of an elderly friend of ours who was suffering from Alzheimer's disease. I was assured by the owner and staff of this facility that they were qualified in dementia care. Since they offered a very personalized approach to the care our friend would receive, I moved him there. Not seven days later, I get a phone call in the late evening demanding my friend's removal from the facility or else they would call the cops and have him forcibly removed. I complied because it was obvious that the situation was urgent. I managed to have him placed on an emergency basis at the Veteran's hospital and was later able to find appropriate placement for my friend. A few weeks later, I received a court summons. The owner, realizing that since I had actually removed my friend from her home as she demanded that she would no longer get paid for his care, decided to SUE ME for breech of contract. It took me many months and a great deal of money to litigate this mess. In the end the judge ruled that the owner had no credibility in her charges, and found in my favor. Imagine that--listening to a judge call the woman a liar in a courtroom. She was ordered to pay a small amount of damages to my elderly friend, but since he passed away before we were able to extract the money from her, she essentially walked away scot free. Don't get yourself mixed up with this unscrupulous home would be my best advice.
