Good Quality Experience

This is a good community. I have been satisfied with the fact that they have a max of 5 residents. This seems to be a good fit for my mom. The staff is good; however, they have a lot of turnover, potentially due to the pandemic. If you call the owner, she responds very quickly. Any time you have questions you have to go through the owner; unless you are present at the community.

Alaya Care

Since 2018, we’ve opened our family home to serve those who matter most. Alaya Care in Shelby Carter Township, Michigan offers older adults memory care living in a lovely six-bed Ranch-style home in a charming residential neighborhood. We are licensed under the regulations of Adult Foster Care in Macomb County, Michigan and make it our duty to provide optimum care — all the time, everytime.

With well-trained and qualified staff we are equipped to serve seniors with physical needs as well as those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Our close staff to resident ratio is helpful to both parties, as staff get to establish personal relationships with residents. Needs are never neglected or forgotten while we are always around. We are honored to be entrusted to provide exceptional care to our senior community.

Alaya Care review

Our experience was awhile ago but, I would not recommend that place to anyone. We had struggles from the first day my grandma moved in until after she moved out. It was very unorganized and it felt as though the caretakers and the owner wanted to do the very minimum for the people in their care.

Horrible place-

We didn't stay very long. My mum passed in [date removed]. If we could give them all zero's we would. The house was dirty and floor was very sticky. The help was sometimes mentally unfit. Food was horrible. They would turn stove on for heat. It was all about getting money. Nothing about residents. Terrible place. I don't think it can get any better with the woman in charge.

My Tour Experience at Alaya Care

This wasn't as nice as another community we toured. We felt it was overpriced.

Bathroom not set up to give your loved one a shower. Owner likes to know when you are coming so she can be there ahead of time to check on everyone so it looks good for her. Not enough workers. Workers complained about no sleep and low pay.
