The best care option for my mother!
I moved my mom from another facility due to the additional care she needed. Amoroso has been a much improved experience. The care staff is much larger and attentive to my mother's needs. Having experienced other facilities, I can attest that Amoroso is the better choice.

I feel I got some misleading information from Amoroso, and I may have made a different decision if they were factual. My mom is really big at going places, getting out of the center, and we where assured that happens and I inquired about the multiple times. Well almost 4 weeks later, they have not taken her anywhere, and she is very upset about it.

Amoroso was FULLY staffed during the 3 months she was rehabbing there. Prior in patient rehab center was constantly understaffed causing multiple issues during her first 2 months of rehab. Staff comments directed at OT & PT staff, and nurse who was in charge of dispensing her medications. OT & PT adjusted their schedule and exercise programs to fit orthopedic surgeon recommendation. Nurse got personally involved with doctor & pharmacy to keep her on schedule with changing medications. Price- $[removed]per day for the package I bought. Included private Room, 3 meals, Medication administered, laundry service, room cleaning service, assistance while non ambulatory with " on call" device. The assistance arrived within 10 minutes. Other facility was most times up to an hour or more. Not a good situation when you're incontinent.

There is one negative thing. We think they pretty much kept her in her wheelchair. At home, she uses a walker. After her stays there, she has to rebuild strength in her legs. I understand why they do this. It is easier for them because someone would have to walk with her if she uses her walker. I'm sure the wheelchair saves time. On a positive note, the staff is very kind and friendly to her. They give her the same room each time she stays there.

my loved one required minimal assistance and was continually ignored on 3rd shift. If you want a less expensive option without much assistance, small restrooms without ADA, then this is the place for you.

Double check prescriptions and who is providing them and costs. Especially if veterans use the VA FOR Medications. Make sure they are covered thro the VA not Brockie. PHARMATECH. Note: check all admission paperwork and obtain copies. Activities are very limited. Always check plan of care and emergency contacts

We moved our dad from [community name removed] memory care unit to Amoroso because we were not happy with his care at [community name removed]. So my thoughts about Amoroso are in contrast to [community name removed]. We were very happy with Amoroso. The staff were genuinely kind, while we felt that most at [community name removed] were only indifferent to our dad. With the activities, They tried, but there wasn't a lot my dad could do. I can't answer the value for cost because I wasn't involved in the financial aspect of his stay. We were very happy that we moved our dad to Amoroso.

The food could be better , the clinical side is disjointed but getting better, and the activities team are rock stars. Communication is getting better, it has a smaller bathroom.

The facility is clean, they accommodated my mom's painting and knitting hobbies. I like that they do all they can to allow her as much independence as she can handle. It's easy to visit her and the nurses call me with any concerns or questions.

Amoroso has a warm, homey feel and the employees get to know each and every resident, respectfully paying attention to their individual needs, quirks, etc. With a very tasteful traditional décor, it does not have the bright, contemporary "bells and whistles" (Wow! Factors) of new facilities -which isn't for everyone. After moving my father from two larger new facilities over the course of 6 years, Amoroso was the charm, and we regret not placing him there in the first place. Definitely a more personal feeling, maybe because it is a smaller facility? Understanding the nature of the industry, there will naturally be concerns as we all want the absolute best care for our loved ones. Our family had minimal concerns arise at Amoroso, and they were addressed within hours of first knowledge - and followed up on within 24 hours to make sure our concerns were answered /resolved. I highly recommend Amoroso and have two friends who have now moved family members there as well.

Although there have been changes in the administration, overall things run smoothly. Having no experience with any Personal Care Community, we found staff to be friendly & respectful. Issues were immediately worked out & solutions to problems found. [name removed]seems to enjoy his time there. For us there is peace of mind. [name removed]is safe and at home at Amoroso.

5 on all categories with exception of care... ... just ratio of medical care professionals to residents is a strain at times. The care in general is a 5... medical care 4... food outstanding and many choices.... maintenance is very kept up and tended to... activities director is outstanding.... and the facility is very family oriented and so caring. My mother feels very valued.... the positive culture/environment they have created is very evident! give a 5 for care ... not the staff's fault they are short-handed regarding medical care.... any concerns are addressed immediately by staff. Even the receptionist goes above and beyond. I wish all places were like this.

Yes I would recommend. Only issue is communication between family and facility at times is lacking. In residential neighborhood with level grounds with flower gardens, and trees.

Like all nursing homes these days I am aware of maintaining staff and overall costs. It is issue for the nursing home and assisted living facilities all over our area. Amoroso Wellness has worked through this. I find the staff helpful and patient with my family member. The lobby is always well kept and changes decorations according to holidays and seasons which helps the mood. In general the rooms are cleaned weekly and carpets get updated. There are times when I have carrying in items and they me coming to the door and take items from me and take them to [name removed] room for me. They are helpful and accommodating. They are generally pleasant though busy. They transport wheelchair bound patients to appointments. They family up to date on eye care, foot care, etc. Call to report any falls even when there is no sign of any injury. Of course, call ambulance when necessary. They have a nurse on premises 24/7. They are attentive to changes in patients moods and try to resolve the issues. These seem to better then expected. They even send breakfast to rooms at request without charge. The dining room is nice. They provide good meals and choice. They provide daily activities and have special events, such as veteran acknowledgement. They special speakers on local history and other subjects. Unfortunately, [name removed] does not participate though staff always try to get him involved. I toured three assisted living facilities in my area, and found best cost. Especially, considering the appearance, cleanliness, and overall services provided. When my Mom first moved in there she was welcomed and the food activities were great. She had a bowel obstructions a year after being there needed ostomy care. It was all very new to them not many nursing assistants knew how to dump a bag let alone change the whole unit. We had some issues but the medical director asked us to make a video at the ostomy center to share and train all that worked there. They had an ipad available in my moms room for any ro change. Which i thought was a great idea. In march this past year my Mom found out she had colon cancer she needed extra care and had more problems the last few months until we had hospice called in to help with her care. They were all attached to my Mom and the last few days of her life we found out how much they truly loved my Mom and still miss her too. They stayed by her side with my brother and I to help make her transition easier for us all which we were thankful for. And they were there for the residents who grieved for my Mom after her passing.
