Review for The Summit of Blue Ash

[name removed] is adjusting. He's used to me being there for him everyday so I've limited my visits so he can get use to their routine. The personnel at the Summit have been wonderful. [name removed] might not agree but I believe it's because he has to get use to a new routine which I believe is a good thing.

Review for The Summit of Blue Ash

They do an incredible job. The care givers are excellent with her and very caring. The staff are wonderful and very good listeners. They give me a lot of support maneuvering with my mother and dementia. It's the best facility she has lived a In. I am very happy with everything they offer. The physical therapist s and occupational therapist are excellent! They have really helped my mom. [name removed]and the nurses are excellent too. I am happy she is there. It would s an excellent care facility and the care givers are incredible! Beautiful.

Exceptional facility unless you have celiac

The chef didn't know how to cook gluten free. If he did have gluten free options I did not like them. The residents that I talked to said they finally got gluten free bread after almost 3 years and nothing basically has changed. I have celiac and there was cross contamination. My experience was an exceptional one except for the food. The staff are very nice people.

Excellent senior facility

Wonderful apartment. Caring staff! They have helped my brother with his personal needs and provided guidance for his medical needs. So many opportunities for social interactions and a wide rage of activities.

"Not great for memory care - Not properly staffed

They're not properly staffed or equipped to deal with seniors going through the progression of dementia / Alzheimer's. The memory care unit is too large with too many spaces conducive to disease progression.

Beautiful place and so much grace

The Summit of Blue Ash is a gorgeous facility with lots of amenities and lovely areas for not only living, but gatherings, too. My mother’s move in was unexpectedly delayed due to emergency surgery. The staff was incredibly gracious giving us plenty of time to readjust and reevaluate our plans. They have worked with us as a partner in her relocation and recovery journey. We look forward to this next chapter in her life journey and we are most grateful to the management and staff at The Summit of Blue Ash.

Amenities vs Necessities

People should ask or know about the difference in care levels. This facility is mostly for those with high amounts of independence. Once my father worsened, there was limited floor space in the "extra care" wing. This was a cause for concern. Ultimately, it worked out, but needs for loved ones can change drastically and suddenly.

They offer a good variety of activities. Very pleased. They now also have various church services as well. I would recommend the facility. Nice community with very caring and friendly staff.

Not recommended

The tour that we took of Anthology of Blue Ash was amazing, we were impressed and all of the staff were very friendly. This facility is gorgeous and well decorated. The main areas were always kept clean. The staff were mostly friendly. The meals appeared to be tasty. The facility seems to have little to no knowledge of how to care for patients in memory care with late stage Alzheimer's. The staff was never consistent, which interrupted care. Several times we couldn't find any staff with a key to let us out of the memory care, because all of the staff were from agencies. We have found our loved one's room with dried fecal matter on the couch that had obviously been there for some time. They were ill equipped to deal with basic behaviors that relate to Alzheimer's such as wandering, and confusion. I would not recommend this facility to anyone I know, specifically the memory care side.

Would Recommend Anthology of Blue Ash

Anthology is a newer facility, beautiful inside and out. The shared spaces are well planned and generous. The apartments are nice with adequate space, some with balconies overlooking a fabulous courtyard. Staffing is sometimes an issue, and that ebbs and flows. Their Activities Director is clearly very invested in delivering a great experience for the residents. High quality and plentiful activities are Anthology's strongest attribute, making it easy for residents to be engaged, stimulated, and to meet others. The location is ideal, immediately adjacent to Blue Ash's Summit Park and good restaurants. Being somewhat new, there are still some kinks to work out, but I would recommend Anthology when comparing it to many of its peers.

Review for Anthology of Blue Ash

I would recommend. You have the park outside with all of their activities. Restaurants within walking distance. The facility is trying very hard. They have the same issues as others with retaining good staff. They have monthly meeting to get input from their residents. My loved one chose this community, and because of the location, facility, and they offered Memory Care and Assisted Living.

Meals for independent residents is too bland, to soft, not appetizing. How many ways can you make hamburger? Ask the chef.

Tour Review

Our family had an in person tour with Anthology of Blue Ash, and it felt like a mini city! It was beautiful. Felt more like resort Yes. Definitely for younger that can do a lot of walking. Anyone with walkers might find the elevators and long hallways too much. I know our father didn't care for that. However we are in the country so that would have been a huge change.

Very positive and reassuring.

We've had a good experience with the facility and the staff. The location is great. There's a park across the street, and lots of places nearby to go eat. The only area for improvement is it seems there has been a turnover in staff, and I don't necessarily understand why. I figure it's just hard to keep people in this line of business. They've told me they're working on it and are trying to bring in some better-quality people. Overall the care, cleanliness, activities, and facility have been wonderful. My wife has really adapted to it, which has been a pleasant surprise. She seems to be very happy there. I see a look of contentment on her that I haven't seen in a long time. They administer her meds on time every day, which removes a big burden from me. It was a hard decision to have to make, but I have no regrets.

Beyond the Surface

The community is new. Many of the "kinks" are not yet worked out. Management has not been able to hire and keep employees in critical positions like the cafeteria. "Skilled care" is limited to a single floor. This may be desirable for some, but is extremely limiting as age and care needs progress. The high "community fee" prevents many from moving frequently or moving at all if budgets are fixed and limited. The facility is beautiful, but look beyond the veneer. Hopefully, they will work things out, but currently there are issues.

Review for Anthology of Blue Ash

it was a brand new facility, and was very impressive. The pricing was expensive, and it was not affordable for my loved one. Overall, it was a great facility.
