Review for Aston Gardens at Pelican Marsh
Just the best place for care.

A great place for mom
My mom is very happy and well taken care of! Everyone is pleasant and friendly, staff and residents. Very clean facility and the food I've had has been very good! Not a big deal but there is one separate bill each month for meds not covered by insurance. You can't bring your own (Advil, vitamin d, etc) . I was unaware for a bit. The bill was sent to my moms Aston address and she doesn't use that one.

Overall, he is happy there. Housekeeping could be improved, though it may be due to limited staffing. The facilities are older but are undergoing renovations, such as a new roof and replacing damaged wood. The caregivers are very kind and attentive to the residents.

The experience has been extremely unsatisfactory. [name removed] moved into her Independent Living apartment on [date removed]. She moved out on [date removed]. A very short, unpleasant experience at that facility which is supposedly focused on creating a compassionate environment for seniors. Her lease was terminated with a 30-day notice left at her door which included a threat of eviction if she did not vacate in that time frame. This was extremely disturbing as we had just finished unpacking her last box and hanging her last piece of artwork from the very major move from Cambridge, MA. Now what? The stress on all of us was intolerable. We recognize that there had been several adjustments and challenges for [name removed] and her young puppy since moving into Aston Gardens. [name removed] complied with administration's concerns by spending thousands of dollars to put her puppy through intensive training as well as adhering to other requests. But before the training was complete, the termination letter arrived. There were no meetings, just a few "surprise" phone calls that were more threatening than helpful or supportive in resolving any issues. The behavior of Aston Gardens' executive director and assistant director which caused massive stress and anxiety for [name removed] was totally shocking and unacceptable. They never reached out to meet with her to work towards solving any problems. [name removed] felt totally unwelcomed and that they essentially wanted her to leave. Just as an aside, the food was barely tolerable and not nutritious at all. The activities, except for the exercise classes, failed to offer any real stimulation. Plus, the apartment, which hadn't been lived in for some time, had issues. For example, the dishwasher had to be replaced...and then the replacement did not work and had to be replaced. Then one evening, two days before [name removed] imposed relocation, we got stuck in her Building 6 elevator between the 1st and 2nd floor. [name removed] , myself and the puppy were finally rescued at 9pm by the local fire department. But not one person from Aston Gardens reached out the next day to apologize or check if we were okay! So, all of these factors contributed to additional disturbances, stress and dissatisfaction. I would NEVER recommend Aston Gardens of Pelican Marsh.

For the most part everyone has been helpful. My dad told me recently that the food has really stepped up!

The facility looks very nice in the marketing. I would say that my father seems to be very happy there.

It is hard for me to make these judgments because my mother arrived at Aston Gardens with increasing dementia. We probably waited too long to move her. I don't fault, Aston Gardens, for not being the best place for her. The residents who were full capacity did not want to associate with my mother because she had dementia. This rejection was hard for her. We had a full-time daytime caretaker, and eventually ended up with 24/seven caretaking, with my mother living in independent living. There was no way she could have lived in assisted living and been happy. So I think it's a hard thing to judge. I believe it is a good community and if you get there early enough that you can make friends, it would be a nice place to live. My mother could not remember who she met from day to day, was rejected from bridge groups ( she was a master bridge player earlier that night life) and many people rejected her from dining with them, etc. so it was hard for her to make friends. In the end, it was more deterioration of my mother's mind that caused Aston Gardens to be an odd place for her for end of life. But I don't think she could've stayed at Wilderness Country Club, even though we provided 24 seven care. It would have been very lonely and Aston Gardens did provide people and activities. She was just unable to partake in any of them.

The people here at Aston Gardens are very friendly and they make it easy to meet people through an abundance of activities. The food is good and varied enough that you can always find something that you like. Nothing is perfect, but I think it's about as good as it gets and naples. most people are very happy with their choice here.

There has been reduced apartment cleaning. Independent living. Need to replace doctor on site. Wish more weekend activities. There is a significant price increases while services are limited

The staff is truly the shining star of Aston Gardens. Some of them have a true sense of purpose being there and that is priceless. It's a great place but to be even better, Aston Gardens needs to provide more nutritious meals (better brain and body food), and the resident rooms (at least, my mom's) need to be cleaned better- especially the floors which is easy.

My loved one is currently a resident at Aston Gardens at Pelican Marsh. The staff is very accommodating, the vibe here is happier, livelier. The buildings are brighter and the grounds are well maintained. The food is good, but they have their difficulties with having enough wait staff. We are not receiving care, so we've had little family interaction. Overall, I would highly recommend.

All categories are a 5 . We loved the facility, amenities, staff and the price. Mom chose Aston Gardens hands down over the other 3 communities we toured. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend the Aston Gardens at Pelican Marsh to other families.

I am currently a resident at Aston Gardens at Pelican Marsh and I am enjoying this facility very much. The people and the staff are very nice. There are a lot of choices for activities. The food is good, with a good variety of choices. I really don't have any complaints! I got my villa and I love it. They are very hard to get, only 16 available. You do have more maintenance responsibility with the villas, but they are much larger. The villas are better for healthy couples. They may be a little expensive, but they are the largest apartment.

Hello I toured here with my dad and we viewed this community. It was such an amazing community with quite a few amenities. Alyssa toured us and was very informative and helpful. The community had quite a few amenities, a pool, quite a few activities and I am definitely putting it to the top of my list.

Aston Gardens is a lovely community and the club house and the main common areas are beautiful. The only problem we did have with the community is the onboarding process - we wish they had some sort of orientation for the newer residents to help make that transition easier. However we would still recommend this community to other families.

Leasing agents [name removed] are fantastic answering all questions, warm, and wonderful. They're both receptive and always there for you! And still there for me!

It is a wonderful community, full of friendly and accepting residents. People are kind and caring. There is a positive vibe that permeates the activities and dining, etc. it is possible to form relationships. It really is the residents that make the difference. So positive. That is what we were looking for for our mother.
