Don’t go here

Don’t send your loved ones here. Especially if they end up in unit 2, they don’t care for their people properly. You can’t get them to answer the phone, they’ll be sitting right at the desk and won’t answer. Lie about maintenance request being put in and handled for patients, take patient phones off the hook or out of their rooms. Steal wallets, leave bed bound patients to fend for themselves, they don’t turn them like they should. It’s horrible horrible place.

THE WORST PLACE EVER!!!

On [date removed] I went to visit my brother in Autumn care in Norfolk VA, my brother had bandages on his left foot that had been dated [date removed]. I proceeded to get a better look at his foot an seen there was an open wound. I then lift up his foot and notice there were several blisters underneath his foot. My brother is bed ridden and can't feel anything from the waist down. His foot had the foot board of his bed in bedded in his foot also. I then went to the nurses station an ask if anyone had bandages for my brother foot, they asked me who was I talking about I told them his name, one nurse said his room number so I responded yes. She said we haven't done treatment yet, I said his foot hasn't been done in two days. It was 2pm when I approached the nurses station someone came @ 2:17 to take care of his foot. It shouldn't take me coming to see my brother for them to take care of him. He has bed sores on his butt. He still has the same bandages from Saturday and it's Monday DEATH TRAP

If you love them, DON'T PUT THEM HERE

My parents have been in thfacility for 3 years. There is a huge turnover in staff and they are not customer service oriented. I see roaches from time to time in my parent's and the food they serve to residents is only average at best. Over the past 3 years, there have been a few nurses who cared, but they left citing management issues.

Not happy

My brother in law left Saturday morning for his dialysis at the VA hospital and on the way back to the facility complained about breathing issues and was taken to the hospital around noon. Sunday after church we went to visit and was told they were trying to locate where he was. My brother in law laid in the ER for 24 hours without Autumn Care contacting the family, the hospital didn't have any information on him. Autumn Care didn't call us when they realized he did not return. All we heard on Sunday that they were trying to locate where he was. Be careful where your loved ones are placed. We are arranging to bring him home and take care of him some how. He deserves so much more for being a veteran!

Huge improvements in the last few months

This facility has come a really long way in a few short months. The new Administrator is really friendly and you actually see him out in the halls interacting with everyone. I also saw him mopping a floor and picking up garbage because it had to be done. They are also getting renovations and the whole place is lighter and brighter.
