All staff that I are friendly and helpful. Place is clean and has a good vibe. Lots of stuff to do during the month. Nice location with views of a river and walking paths that can be used. Also close to Silver Lake with more paths to walk on.

Within the first 4 days of my mom's move in date, she fell four times with the last fall putting her in the hospital with injuries to include a broken shoulder. These injuries exacerbated her illness and my mom passed within one month of her short stay at Aviva River Bend. The Executive Director lacked compassion and professionalism when my dad and I returned to ask questions. I feel the Director of Nursing at intake should have evaluated my mom’s physical capabilities in addition to asking my mom questions she was not able to correctly answer due to her disease. Also, measures should have been taken after her 2nd fall to protect her from serious injury. No words can say how disappointed I am in this facility.

The staff is wonderful! My parents love the food. Biggest item to improve upon is the activities. Greater variety of them & a pool table

What we like the most about AVIVA River Bend is the positive environment. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families If they had the money to afford it!

The meals good from what I see, but I don't know about the activities I do not seem them. Charging for memory care, but giving assisted living care. They promised me that they would do daily hygiene care morning and evening and help with changing clothes for bedtime. This usually never happens. Our loved one sleeps in their clothing from what they wore for the day. It's just sad. I had high hopes for better care for them, but it didn't happen.

Overpriced Don't deliver on promises. Exec Director is FAKE, loud and obnoxious. Seems to only be concerned about money. Not caring at all. Good thing Caregivers are very caring, run by a wonderful, caring Resident Director, [name removed] and assistant RN. Had a chance to view memory care, run my a nice man, can't remember his name. Food was great and is now borderline disgusting. We moved mom out and she has since passed.

There have been some changes and this facility is definitely different than it used to be. Not bad, but not as pleasant. The food quality is not as exciting as it was for my loved one. They do offer activities, but my loved one chooses not to participate.

We liked the lay out of the apartments. Easy for handicap to get around. It is owned by an investment firm. Suck seniors dry. Staff very friendly and trying to do their best. You can always get a hamburger, which is good, if you don't like what they serve. It's an example of rich getting richer and sucking middle class poor.

Most of the staff are amazing! Moving in was smooth. Most importantly, my loved one loves it. A truly welcoming community. [Name removed], the Activities Director, is absolutely wonderful. It's very difficult communicating with staff/logistics/finance right now with the changes going on.

We moved our loved one in about 11 months ago. We really liked the options & management. [date removed], New Facility director took over & nothing has gone right. Staff is quitting, or they let wonderful nurses resign due to bad management. That all aside in the 11 months my loved one has lived there the price has changed 3 times! Effective [date removed] they are making all the residents take an assisted living package for $[removed]more a month! My loved one receives no cares from staff except what is provided with light housekeeping, laundry & meals. They don't have the staff to provide "cares" for all the residents. With this price increase we will be paying $[removed] a month for a 1 bedroom apartment!! That's $[removed]in 1 year! Plus, the activities director treats the independent & assisted living residents like children some of the activities are very undignified. Playing with Legos & tinker toys is not something my 85 year old loved one would like to do. We are moving our loved one.

We love River Bend! It's a friendly and supportive environment that feels like family. My loved one says she likes the food. The facility itself is excellent, and it's an excellent value. I would highly recommend it to other families. We couldn't be more pleased.

I would choose them again to place my loved one here. They are very friendly and this stands out to me. Some of the activities available are music, arts and crafts, and more for the residents to choose from. The food could have a little less sodium and more options would be more desirable for my loved one. Maybe even more plant based eating.

From what we have seen the meals look great and the activities are great and we are fairly happy with the place. Our issue is with the communication, we aren't sure if it is because of the rotating shifts or the turnovers but the internal communication is lacking. Sometimes we ask multiples times for something to get done for our loved one and it does not reach the person it should, we really have to advocate for her.

The people are pretty nice. I do not feel like they have enough staff but I understand that as of right now. However, I do not feel like you get what you pay for with memory care. I do not feel like they are attentive to their needs and that could be due to limited help but they need more help with cleaning rooms and showering.

My loved one is getting excellent care here. I do have issues getting a hold of the staff when I want to. They have him participating in all of the activities. This was one of the main things for me and he is up and moving and participating in everything.

Loved the location, the memory unit was very airy, with a lot of space. It is clear the residents are well-cared-for. We are still in the research-gathering mode, and this is definitely in the running for Mom

We chose River Bend Assisted Living because of the location of the facility as well as the value for the money. The room sizes are very good and we are happy with that. They could use improvement on the variety and the quality of the meals, it has been an on going issue that hasn't been resolved.

A Place for Mom has scored AVIVA River Bend 6.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
