Not the best

I’ve had a few visits that were unsettling there in terms of the way residents are attended to...I I wasn’t impressed when I heard the roommate of my aunt yelling out in pain “Help my leg, it hurts” for at least five minutes and was ignored. When I went to find the caretakers (they were sitting and chatting???!!!) they told me not to worry about the lady because it wasn’t time for her pain pill? It was a very upsetting experience and could’ve been handled with a lot more compassion I think. Another time it was 2pm and my family member’s teeth had not been brushed yet. Or face washed for the morning. The caretaker admitted to that and said they would do it soon. Not acceptable.

Left in bed all day?

Unfortunately, my grandmother’s first week there has not met promised expectations or our hopes. The aides/nursing help has not gotten her out of bed as we were told. Visitors arriving late in the day have had to insist the attendants to get grandma out of bed, even though my grandma had asked to get up earlier she was left in bed. Can you say bedsore risk???!!! We are very Concerned that the aides are leaving her in bed all day. Another issue of basic politeness, is the constant chattering in another language than English between the aides while taking care of my grandma and her roommate. My grandma said she heard her name spoken and laughing. Since the aides speak english and are supposed to be working, it is very unprofessional to do this. The pros are this place is very clean and so far the food seems attractively presented and healthy. We hope that management resolves this issue of care and unprofessional behavior by their staff soon.

Still Getting Use To The Community

There are helpful, kind, hard working staff that help my mom out here. They are very attentive and nice to all residents. The place is small and everything is close to get to while moving from place to place. Her meals are good but she is still getting use to change. I have no issues with the place being clean. My mom is in good hands here, we are pleased.

Wonderful caretakers

Overall we're happy, its very caring and very homelike, obviously. The people who work there are always very helpful and friendly. its always clean when were there, they help her with her bathing, dressing, walking, just communicating with her; so they've been excellent. The facility is very small, they only have four residents and they do have puzzles and coloring and stuff. They have a large tv and they take her out to the garden so a little more stimulation would be nice but I think it's the size that has a lot to do with that. We were concerned about the cost but this place was very reasonable with a lot of benefits. I would highly recommend them and probably any of their other facilties too.
