Staff is very friendly and knows the residents. The building is currently being renovated. I would recommend Brookdale, I feel it's been a positive move for my mom.

Brookdale Novi is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a warm, friendly environment at a price that’s manageable. The staff and residents are amazing! Definitely recommend if you’re in need of a place for your loved one!

They are very responsive to any concerns. It is a warm place. Better than some I have visited. My dad is as happy as he can be for a place that is not his home. I would recommend Brookdale of Novi to others.

Overall we liked the place- apartments were spacious and well maintained. Food was great. Although the ran out of items often for the 2nd group meals. Staff was friendly and helpful Hallways were bright and spacious. Fireplace hangout was really cozy and welcoming. Only negative- Residents did not like change or new people joining their groups. Very cliquish at times. Location was a bit far north away from major shopping areas but felt safe

It was a bad experience overall. Doesn't smell good and it's not clean. Some staff are not friendly, some not so bad. The food was bad - it had too much gravy and sauces and some residents get good helpings and others don't. The activities are very good. Not a good value too expensive. Don't have space enough to tell the problems I've had.

Me and my wife are current residents at this community. The staff and resident are very pleasant here and I’m very satisfied! I would recommend moving to Brookdale Novi for a resident looking for senior living.

I would recommend that Brookdale of Novi look for another company to contract with for assisted living services and fire Balanced Home Care. They were rude and did not want to provide assisted living service. Many times they would charge for services that were not rendered. [name removed] does an excellent job as the director of the facility. She works with you and she's an advocate for the residences that live there. I would strongly suggest if someone is considering Brookdale and they need assisted-living services, they should contract with another service independently. [name removed] is the supervisor for the staff at Balanced Home Care. I witnessed first hand her interactions with my mom and she was very rude. She would call my mom a liar, and she would be very rude to her. If Your leadership acted this way, it's expected that the rest of the staff would too and that's what most of them did. I have provided feedback to Balanced Home Care to upper management about Tracy and the staff but nothing changed.

Place is infested with bed bugs and their response to fix it is only spraying one room. Rooms are filthy and staff don’t care. Unreported covid and others health scares. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Balanced cannot keep any staff except the manager. One care aid put my dad in the shower with no light on and left him and never came back. They are horrid and the reason we are starting to look at other option. My dad got bed bugs from the man who he eats meals with, the man's unit was infested and housekeeping that does it weekly never knew. They corrected the bed bug issue and move the man to another dining table. The place is not the cleanest, dead bugs on window sils and cob webs. They really need more staff and better home care.

Staff goes above and beyond to make themselves available for questions. Apartments are fairly spacious. Amenities offered are great.

They're trying to improve on the meals, But it sure takes a long time. Vegetables are mush. Menu is not diabetic friendly. I would overall recommend Brookdale Novi to others.

The staff are most attentive and know everyone's name. The activities run daily, always with the residents' interest in mind. There are volunteers who play Rummicube with residents and who give hand massages periodically. There is staff on hand who can distribute medications and offer companionship. Also housekeeping services once a week included. Three meals per day included. Friendly and caring residents.

We picked it more by cost than anything else. We haven't been that impressed with the food or the service. I would recommend the cost. I know they're working on improvements but they need to work harder. I believe there are a high number of COVID cases at the facility right now.

The management staff at Brookdale, Novi were wonderful to work with. They made many accommodations for my Mom on very short notice. They truly do care about their residents and communicate well with family members. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far

This is really a senior apartment with assistance if your loved one needs it. It's NOT assisted living, which we understand, but others may not. The staff communication is pretty good. My mother in law sometimes expects too much from staff. She asked them if someone could bring her a new light bulb. She has never lived in an apartment, so she has to lower her expectations. I live nearby, so I can help her with those requests. Staff is good for most part. I would suggest that there are some things that would help ALL residents if Staff would be willing to do, i.e. TV issues, simple cell phone issues, air conditioning and heat regulating. These are simple things, but if you have poor eyesight or mild memory issues, they are very frustrating. I never see other residents' family members visiting, so I don't see how they get these items addressed.

Admittedly our first choice as this experience of placing a parent in assisted living was new to our family, the juxtaposition of Brookdale (Novi/Commerce) and where we have our Mom now, is significant. Brookdale offered inexperienced staff, a multitude of administrative mishap and dishonesty in billing.

We picked this community, because of the value, atmosphere and location. I would recommend. Only negative comment would be first floor laundry facilities. It fits the needs of my loved ones. Adjustment hasn't been terrible, but they were willing participants.
