Burgess Square experience

My loved one did rehab here at Burgess Square. I did not see the living quarters myself, but I know that my dad loved the food. The quality of care from was great. The cleanliness was ok. I don't know much about the activities that they had provided. He and I would both rate the overall experience at Burgess Square a 4....he was delighted to come back home to [facility name removed]

Treat you badly, runup your bill and refuse to discharge you

I am currently a resident at Burgess and am very disappointed at the way i am being treated by management and some staff. I have been here for approximately 2 and a half weeks recovering from surgery on my left foot. Things were fine for the 1st week and 1/2 but they started to treat my badly in the 2nd week when I question my charges ,got into an argument with a physical therophist who was bossing me around. I complained to management about my treatment and requested I be transfered to home care because my medicare benefits are being reduced. They refused to assisst discharging me and transfering me to home care, even after my foot surgeon has cleared me to go home. This tactic is very expensive and financial hardship on retired senior citizens like myself. I was particularly upset when I was told by multiple staff that they could refuse to release me and hold me against my will therefor running up my bill thousand of dollars. I do not recommend staying here, I regret choosing this facility for rehab, and am having to fight to get released.

They have been very kind to me.

My loved one is on the dementia ward, but they change nurses every single day and the information I give them doesn’t get passed one. But the nurses and doctors have been really, really willing work with me on the medications for my loved one. They have been very kind to me. Occupational therapists and physical therapists are both really good.
