Turn and Run

I placed my mother under the care of Fleetwood Place and removed her within two weeks; she actually left by ambulance which resulted in a 3 night stay in hospital. In my opinion, my mother was chemically restrained which resulted in an unreported fall and has now suffered irreparable damage. This place is aesthetically beautiful and while we experienced some very good staff, my suggestion would be to turn and run the other way. Not the place you want your loved one. None of my concerns regarding medication was properly addressed and in my opinion this is a business that does not care about their residents.

Cannot rate "Fleetwood Place" as Mom stayed at Fleetwood Villa across the street. The Villa was fine in all respects and we hope Mom can do more respite stays there.

Review of Fleetwood Place Alzheimer's / Memory Care in Surrey, BC

It was interesting to have a tour of a 2nd location but same Parent company. During the tour we only looked at the 1st floor, as the tour manager said the 2nd and 3rd floor tour would conflict with privacy. Nor was a meal sheet or activity sheet or brochure(which she did know I probably had from Morgan) given, rather directions to look at the website. I did receive a small pamphlet from her. In this facility no resident cat nor birds on site. The rooms look a bit smaller than Morgan, and at 9:30am there was only a handful of residents in the halls. It did not seem to have the energy and engagement of the residents that I saw at Morgan, so hard to judge the involvement of staff to residents. Activities also seemed sparser than Morgan, but they do have a daycare in a room that the children interact with the residents. Morgan indicated you could pay for a 2nd shower per week, not an option here. As they are a smaller facility they also do not have an occupational therapist on site as they do not have a wing for rehab that Morgan has. As before they have 1 RN & 3 care givers Am & afternoon, overnight 1 RN & 2 care givers I believe for ea section...approx residents in each section are 27-31-32-36.
