my dad loves it there!

My father loves it there at Garden Terrace Retirement Home! The director (John) took my father (who can be over dramatic) and walked him through the whole experience and worked with my dad very well, setting proper expectations for him and working well with him. It is a really great place. My dad told me yesterday that he wished he had gone there sooner. He is extremely happy, which makes my life even better.

Old facility not updated very small rooms. Not clean tour guide very negative attitude towards old people. Stating several times that residents don't avail themselves of such things as outdoor seating or regularly eating meals. No plan for evacuating residents with mobility issues living above the second floorin case of fire. Building is 6 floors and we were told that the elevator is mot reliable and was out of service for 6 weeks last year. Also that bedbugs have been an issue infesting 17 units but now down to just one infected unit that they know of. I wouldn't board my dog here much less myself or a loved one!

Value Is Great

The main thing was the cost. We were absolutely tickled when the final calculation for her rent came through; so to get the subsidy that she got was just wonderful. The friendliness of the staff was impressive.
