To rate in a different way......We hired Home and Hearth as a bridge between my brother-in-laws coming home from rehab and his start with the Community Care program (Il. Dept. On Aging). We have continued hiring them to cover evening care when we are on vacation.....and will continue to do so for vacations as a safety valve gong forward. We would recommend them to others who are needing home health care for their loved one.

This time around, my experience was not like the previous one. I'd rate them 0 and wouldn't recommend them. Late call offs, no shows, unable to get coverage, sending new hires with experience to care for my Mom who was bedbound and complete care. I found out the company had been sold. I worked with the Trinity Advocacy Group and they found Home Helpers. I'd use them again in a heart beat. My Mom was in hospice with St Croix Hospice. They were phenomenal. They worked very well with Home Helpers and assisted us with her transition.

Person assigned to my father kept changing her schedule and then there was a lot of talk of replacing her because she was moving but then never did. They were so inconsistent, we had to cancel the support.

The caregivers were professional and engaging when helping my mom. They did whatever task that we asked of them

This was the first time my Mom had a regular caregiver come in and help. While the provider seemed kind and caring, she wasn’t able to come a few times and also my mom just didn’t seem comfortable so we decided to cancel for now.

The last two caregivers were really good with my mom. The office did work hard to find replacements when someone couldn't come. The the last minute call off was really hard to do if they couldn't find a replacement. The weekly administrative charge I thought was a lot.

My unusual circumstance required a special caregiver who was able to lift my husband from bed to wheelchair to outdoor chairlift for van transportation to dialysis 3 days a week. My husband had no strength of his own. Home and Hearth provided a wonderful and reliable caregiver who came twice a day at a reasonable cost.

I think I used innovative Homecare solutions mostly. [name removed] who was the main contact was very good and caring. However I had a couple of caregivers that weren't good fits. One was a young mother who was very nice but always ran late and I would end up making breakfast for my mom. Them Then the caregiver would eat her breakfast while at our house. She could heat stuff in the microwave but didn't cook. I prepared meals and then she always asked if she could have some and after a couple of weeks I told her to bring her to bring her own food. I gave the feedback when I asked for her to be changed since her timings weren't consistent. The other one was older and friendly but she took 2 hour breaks to cook her food. Watched YouTube on our TV in family room while my mom slept which disturbed me since I worked at home. Both she and another caregiver used my groceries. I'm a single working parent (my husband passed away in 2010) and had a lot of things to coordinate and find time to go shopping. The final straw was that every time she took my mom to the bathroom, she would hook her arm under my mom's arm and drag her along. My mom would start screaming and then I would have to go running. I didn't want my mom to get hurt and had her changed. She was upset at me about asking for her to leave that day around 6pm. Sorry for the long text.

Home and Hearth Caregivers provided excellent services. We stopped using them only because we moved mom into independent living.

There are some very good caregivers, some not so good. Some of them really put their heart and soul into it and others cannot wait to leave. I do think that they need to communicate better when someone calls off.

Again this is not a community, but is in home health care. I am very pleased with the care from the caregivers and the communication from the agency. I do recommend Home & Hearth.

The manager we dealt with did a great job trying to provide us with a caregiver in a short amount of time. I felt like they really wanted to work with us and make us happy. I would recommend their home care services to others looking.

Our loved ones caregiver was friendly, caring, affectionate, helpful, very aware of mom's limitations. They kept me closely informed of any changes, and or attentive to any needs that mom might have.

They did an excellent job. They did everything we asked them too. They kept really good records. They let us know if there were any issues and worked with us through those issues. The beginning was a bit rough trying to find a good match with the same staff member coming. Once we got that same person during our visits, everything moved much more smoothly.

They were caring, kind, and responsive. They were short staffed and ran into trouble with finding caregivers to assist my loved one. The caregivers that did come were professional, it was difficult with the scheduling of the caregivers to assist with the services. Home and Hearth was able to assist with daily living activities at home and this was adequate for my loved one.

They were good. The only issue was if our person didn't show up, they didn't have any replacement. But our caregiver was great. She was friendly, down-to-earth, and just very nice. We had no problems with the scheduling/billing side of things either.

We had a good experience. They were helpful and friendly. We just needed more help than what we got. Even though they were nice, the individual caregivers were not as attentive as we needed.
