Forever grateful

After unsuccessfully moving our dad to several care homes, we turned to the Oregon Dept. of Human Services website to research facilities. We were fortunate to find Joy Adult Foster Home in Beaverton which had a perfect record/no citations. The owners, who are the primary caregivers (and one is a registered nurse), and their small staff, became family to us. They treat each of their residents with the utmost respect and compassion. We called them our living angels because they view caring for the elderly as their calling, not their job. They live by values of kindness, patience, and honesty. The home is sparkling clean, spacious, and comfortable. The food is fresh, healthy, and made from scratch daily. Residents thrive in the routines and activities of daily living, while also having their individual preferences honored. We put our trust into them, as did our dad, to provide the most dignified and comfortable end-of-life care possible. That is what he had. We are forever grateful.

Current resident of Elkton Ct home

My mother has resided at the Elkton Ct. home for over three years. The previous owners sold the home in earlier 2021. The care my mom had received by the previous owner was excellent. When the home changed ownership I was nervous - would it be as excellent - would I need to move her? The new owners have alleviated all my concerns. The owners are very focused on quality care, but are also attentive and caring. They employ wonderful caregivers who also show the same attention to care and kind interaction with the residents. I feel the care of my mother is a partnership between her family and the caregivers. We feel so comforted that Edna and Mathew are available at anytime with our questions, concerns and they reach out to us as needed. How fortunate we are to have our mom at this home!

Wonderful Adult Foster Care

At 90 my mother-in-law's health started to decline rapidly. She spent some time in a rehabilitation facility, but when it was apparent that she would not be recovering we started the task of looking for a foster care placement for her. We found Joy Adult Care and could not have been luckier. [Name removed] and [Name removed], the owners of Joy Adult Care, are beyond wonderful.They are caring, compassionate and endless patient. They also take care to hire like minded staff. During my mother-in-laws's stay [Name removed] and [Name removed] took their family on a vacation to California. While they were gone my mother-in-law fell. When the staff informed [Name removed] of the accident she called us from California to tell us she would be flying home early that evening to make sure my mother-in-law was okay. We told her we did not believe that was necessary and, ultimately, she completed her vacation. However, the fact that she was willing to cut the vacation short and incur the expense of flying home early is a testament to her commitment to the residents in her care. My mother-in-law ultimately passed away while living at Joy. My husband was with her at the end. I was not, but both [Name removed] and [Name removed] were present and [Name removed] wept with my husband when his mother passed. We were truly blessed to have found [Name removed] and [Name removed] and cannot recommend their facility highly enough. The home is beautiful and spotless. The resident's rooms are large and cheerful with private half baths. (There is a separate room for bathing). The food is healthy and well prepared. There is a sunny patio where residents spend time in nice weather and a large dining room where the residents take their meals and socialize. Again, we just cannot say enough good things about this facility. If you are in need of adult foster care, this is the place. [Name removed]
