I would recommend the facility - accommodations are like a full apartment. Family can stay in the apartment with their family members. Our momma has been well taken care of.

Lakewood Landing, Inc.

Lakewood Landing offers exceptional senior care to seniors and their families in and around Mandan, North Dakota. Considered one of the best places to retire in the state, Mandan proves this by having eight full golf courses within a 10-mile radius of the facility. Younger visitors will be delighted by the two amusement parks and water parks nearby, as well. Like most parts of North Dakota, Mandan is quiet and safe, making this town an ideal place to settle down.

As a large senior living community, Lakewood Landing offers a range of care options. Seniors and their families who are interested in living in Lakewood first have a meeting with a coordinator to establish what type of care the senior needs. There are 68 units total in the home, with an equal split between independent living apartments, assisted living spaces, and memory care rooms. The independent living facilities have full kitchens and in-unit laundry, but residents can still request housekeeping and meal services. Residents receiving assisted living care live in similar apartments but have a registered nurse check in on them, and they receive assistance with mobility, grooming, and medication reminders. The memory care wing is fully secure and staffed with caregivers and...

Hopeful

I'm hoping this place is better. Moving my mom from [facility removed] which is a joke. Lady in charge was arrested for stealing money from the elderly residents. The staff sucked. This place better be better. I know exactly what to look for. I'm one of the people who turned in the lady and some of the staff. I'll be watching for a sure

Beware - many improvements needed

It has been a horrible experience and we will be moving our loved one within the next 30 days. They need to improve on pretty much everything across the board. They are currently under investigation by North Dakota State Long-Term Care. They do not work well with families and they lack communication. They do not speak the truth and they don't follow up. They don't answer phone calls or return phone calls. We seriously feel for others that are in the facility that don't have advocates standing for them. We recommend that no one send your loved ones here, the administration and staff are very poor.

New administrator is a nightmare!

This wonderful place is no longer wonderful with the new administrator. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. You will be glad you did! This is a horribly run facility! The administrator knew we were moving my elderly mother in law out. She had nothing ready. None of her medications, nor anything. I went to the office many times, with no one ever around. When I FINALLY got ahold of her after many, many tries, she was very short tempered and extremely rude and unprofessional. Go elsewhere if you want an administrator who cares about the residents, because the current one does not!

Review for Lakewood Landing, Inc.

It's a comfortable apartment, with friendly residents. They need to work on consistent cook, and additional staff. They have had, way too much staff turnover. My loved one is very happy there. She has made some wonderful friends and that her family appreciates the level of care and safety she has there. There may be areas that could use improvement but overall we are all very happy.

Our Experience

The positives of Lakewood Landing is that they each get their own private studio apartment. They can come and go as they wish but yet they are in a secured building with alarms should they wander. Another positive is that they are beside water. They can go out and walk along the water with a cemented path. The downside is the lack of activities for the memory care residents.

Tour of Lakewood Landing

My loved one could not take the tour with me, but I found Lakewood Landing to be a great quality facility. It is on par with the place that we chose, the only thing it came down to was location. He lives in another state and did not want to make this big of a move. It looked like a great facility.

A great place to make a second home

At this time the community is having a hard time keeping a cook and covid is playing a big part in this. We do not regret placing my loved one here. He is happy and it takes a lot of burden off of us. This community is working out well for my loved one. They have activities like musical groups coming in, karaoke, painting, colored pencil activities, watching things on t.v. as a group and more for the residents to do to have a good time. My loved one has said several times that everyone there is a big family. They all care about each other and socialize often.
