Legend Assisted Living at Rivendell
Legend at Rivendell is a beautiful assisted living community just outside of one of Oklahoma City’s most coveted neighborhoods. In the greater Oklahoma City area, residents can visit wonderful cultural attractions, including the Oklahoma City Zoo and several exciting museums. Legend is an artfully designed single-story community, with low pile carpets to reduce tripping and a carefully curated color palette that makes the home easier to navigate for those with vision loss.
Residents can choose from a variety of suites with natural light, private bathrooms, walk-in showers, and convenient kitchenettes. Some suites open directly to the home’s landscaped courtyard and walking paths. The home features gorgeous common spaces, such as an elegant dining room, a lovely French bistro, a movie theater, multiple cozy lounges, a hair salon, and a big front porch with rustic rocking chairs.
Legend at Rivendell’s professional caregivers are available around the clock. Community members are offered personalized care plans, transportation and housekeeping services, and an authentic culinary experience. The community offers a memory care residence for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Community members can also access the Personal Care Suite for on-demand care. The staff is so friendly here. It’s always clean here. They help us go to the dining room. They are so helpful here and I enjoy living here. The other residents are lovely and I just enjoy them so much! So thankful to find this place!

I love how nice and clean it is here at my wonderful community! The housekeeping comes once a week or more if I need them too! And the staff is so nice and helpful! I get my Amazon packages delivered here and it’s the best!!

I love how safe the residents are I love how kind and caring the staff is. The dining area and food are top-notch. Yes we would for sure recommend this community to other families, and my mom said she would be very happy to return one day to live there. I love this place!

We switched to Legend from another facility and it’s been the right choice. It’s clean, and welcoming, with lots of activities and great food. He’s got a better bigger room and the staff work hard to serve the residents compassionately.

It did not smell bad (like another did when we walked in the door) and the residents keep their doors open showing a very welcome attitude. That I am pro-Legends based on what my family has seen and what Mother has said. She loves it because they take very good care of her and that they spoil her with attention.

Inadequate room cleaning, no help with day to day personal needs, no regular medical checkups after initial check in, no PT Facility and common areas are clean and well maintained. Individual rooms only get trash pickup and occasional vacuuming. No laundry service, no dishwashing, no room cleanup. Hiring an outside maid and laundry service is necessary if resident or visiting guests are unable to keep up with it themselves. Very friendly staff and management. No real care is provided beyond administering daily meds and taking out the trash. They occasionally vacuum. They don't do dishes/laundry/room cleanup or any other personal assistance for the guests. Food is perfectly adequate but they charge [fee removed]/meal to bring to room, which seems excessive. If guest has poor mobility, this adds up quickly. Plenty of group activities like pottery class and movie night. Poor value for the money. For[fee removed] month, we were expecting more. We moved my mom back home, employed a maid service, laundry service, visiting physical therapist, visiting nurse, implemented life alert, setup an automatic pill dispenser, setup meal and grocery delivery, and all for less than 1/2 the amount we were paying Legend. Legend was essentially a very, very expensive micro apartment.

Their staff need education and training, their communication between staff members is not effective at all and I would consider it potentially dangerous to residents. They have kind staff, but those staff members have not kept up with my nanas Care plans as described. She needs more direction and assistance than they are giving her. They should have been helping her the most when she first arrived but did the opposite to the point where I felt if she had been in her own home, my Nana would have cared for herself more effectively than they cared for her. They have been semi responsive to criticism and have improved in some areas but I am concerned for other residents whose family members are not able to be as involved.

I moved mom to Legends this year so she would be closer to family. There are eight of us now within a few minutes drive to see her. One of the things I am most impressed with is the service and food quality in the cafeteria. All of the staff is courteous, patient and helpful to all the residents. I would like to give a special thank you to Chef [name removed], he is always smiling, calls everyone by name and always willing to do anything to make the dining experience special. I try to eat at least one meal a week with mom and he always comes out to greet me by name and to make sure I get plenty to eat! I’m sure preparing meals for older residents who might not be in good health is challenging, I think the staff at Legends meets that challenge daily! Thank you for all you do for our loved one!

My wife and I were so happy to attend Octoberfest at Legends again this year. They had such good music that was an accordian player playing it! The food is always so yummy and we were so happy to be apart of it this year!

The room was ready but I didn’t realize til last minute I had to furnish it like an apt. I was told that but it slipped my mind with all I had going. I went to the store and bought the furniture and the staff at Legend including the manager was awesome in putting everything together and installing what was needed. From the very beginning meeting everyone to the moving in, the process was very pleasant and everyone was friendly. My cousin loves the place and he has always been very well dressed and clean when I visit. Great place. Thanks for making a difficult situation amazing.

Our experience started good. My parents were there over 3 years. We started noticing changes after about 9 months. They had trouble keeping a director. As directors changed, staff changed. My parents medications were not being given correctly. We had to make several formal complaints to get it corrected. Once Covid started, communication was horrible. When we were finally allowed to go in to the facility, we realized they weren’t cleaning. They did keep the front lobby area nice but the rooms were filthy. When we complained the Director told us they were short staffed so she wasn’t sure what we expected her to do. We pointed out that her door (which led to the courtyard) was leaking air. Maintenance fixed her door by putting packing tape all the around it so it couldn’t be opened. The Director of the facility and corporate were non-responsive so we found a stable facility a few miles away.

We picked this community, because I liked the atmosphere, it smelled great, and the people were friendly. It's pricy, but I believe it's the best around. Overall, I would recommend it to everyone.

The staff at Legend Assisted Living at Rivendell is very friendly and tries to keep my loved one engaged in activities. The meals are good. My loved one gets tried of similar meals, but that is probably normal. The housekeeping is good. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

They often run out of food, because people are not choosing the fish option, which is a major issue. The chef is wonderful. My loved one loves activities.The staff during the week is excellent. Although, they have experienced staffing issues, and they don't have enough help on the weekend. The cleaning staff is not changing the sheets as often. They take my loved one to physical therapy, twice per week, which is wonderful.

They have done well with the medication management. We picked this community, because of the location and cost. My loved one likes the community. They can improve on the cleanliness of the rooms, and housekeeping. Overall, I would recommend to other families.
