Keeping a promise

We made a promise to dad to take great care of mom until her last day. When the time came that we could no longer keep her in the home, with search help from a local hospital, we chose Lincoln Hills Health Ctr in New Albany, IN. I have to say that the staff there cared for our mom like she was their own mother. Also, the memory care unit, allows the patients to live out their life and not try to drug them and stick them in a corner. Up until the very last couple of days, mom was going to the dining room and socializing with the other residents. They did everything they could to find something that mom would/could eat until she could no longer perform the act of swallowing. Mom was kept comfortable and bathed and anything she/we needed was provided in a timely manner. There are good people at Lincoln Hills both as employees and as residents. There was never a day that I wasn’t greeted when I walked into the facility or onto the memory care unit and the hugs were plentiful.
