I was not impressed with this community. It seemed a bit out dated, and was not bright and cheery.

For us personally Marymount Villa worked out best because they had Filipino staff and my mom is Filipino. The second reason we chose them was the value of care with the cost associated was great. The last reason was the convenient location. It is in downtown San Leandro so it is a wonderful spot in a safe neighborhood. This is the only nursing home that they operate so they are very invested in this facility which makes all the difference. The apartment sizes are very good. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

There are parts of the carpet that are pretty worn. The community is a pretty good place. It's fairly priced compared to other places in the market.

The staff members at this community were great, and even before COVID they had no activities. The rooms at this community were about a four out of five, they were not all that that modern but kept up very well. We would recommend this community to others.

I think it is a wonderful caring community yet I would check on your loved ones frequently. The residents were engaged in activities. My was always clean, it never had an odor there, and the staff were always friendly. The only thing that was disheartened to me was that after my mother passed away, we went to move hers things and a lot of her clothes were missing.

Toured this very posh, large facility. While the rooms and amenities are great, monthly payment + level of care is more than I want to pay for my father.

This is a loving environment that doesn't smell like a hospital. Knowledgeable staff and homey atmosphere relieves the stress with patients transitioning into their new environment. They provide great support to families as well, in counseling them on what to expect with impaired awareness brought on by dementia. It's a difficult situation when you feel that you aren't doing enough for your parent while you are burning yourself out, both mentally and physically. This a disservice to your loved one. Acknowledging what's best isn't easy and this facility let's you see how evidence based quality practice is beneficial to patient as well as their families.

My mother has been at Marymount's third-floor memory care unit for about 2 years now. I have to start with the fact that my mother was coming from a previous elder care home, I won't name names here, and was not being taken care of AT ALL. My mother came to Marymount smelling of urine, with open sores on her heels, ingrown toenails, teeth that needed to be looked at, unkempt hair, stressed and combative....she was in very bad shape. I have a very young special needs child at home and am not able to be as on top of things as I would like, I just don't have the hours in the day, so I really rely on her residence to take care of her day to day needs, as they are being paid to do. Back to my review...my mother arrived in very bad shape, I was stressed, skeptical, but knew that she had to [be] moved from where she was. My questions to [remove] were really about the staff, cleanliness and how tolerant the staff would be of my mother's bad attitude. I was assured she would be well taken care of. As I have visited her over the last two years she has been getting progressively better, if you can believe that! My mother has dementia, she is schizophrenic, can no longer walk and is extremely strong willed! She has always been extremely difficult to deal with and try to help or take care of...somehow Marymount seems to have cracked the code! As I said my mother was getting better and better, in that she smelled better, her skin looked better, her hair was always clean, her teeth clean, her sores healing, she gained a bit of much-needed weight and her attitude was better-unbelievable! The last time I saw her, just 2 days ago, she was in a great mood, we went to a Dr. appointment, she had blood work done and voila her blood work looked great, kidneys great, liver great, triglycerides great, no high blood sugar, no hypertension...etc... This is all in stark contrast to her health at her previous placement AND my mother was in a really good mood! My hat is off to Marymount for taking such good care of my mother when I cannot. I feel confident that she is in good hands and being treated with the utmost consideration and respect. Thank you so much, Marymount.

So far my brother is doing pretty well since his move to this community. It has been an adjustment for him with his move here, and he has had a couple of set backs. However they a good staff, and they are looking after him the best they can. He is comfortable, and so far everything is working out pretty well for us with this community.

My Dad loved the Area this was in - Downtown San Leandro, he liked that they Furnish the Room, but for $6,500 per month he expected it to be a little newer then it is, he liked it but wants to see a few more before he makes a decision.

The home is always clean and smells good. The staff is wonderful very caring and attentive and professional. She is now eating well the food is good. She feels more secure being here and that makes her feel happy. It is exactly what she needed for her to thrive

I was impressed by the cleanliness, the atmosphere, meeting the Chef, the shared-room is very nice and could be the next best thing to "home." [Removed] was professional, provided me with information I need to make a decision for my Mom. [Removed]

My friend is progressing and I feel pretty good where she is. They let me know that she is not doing well and the staff are trying to help. I am glad. that she is there. The community is clean and had good meals. I am told she goes down to the dining room and eats with everyone. I would absolute recommend this place to family or friends in need.

It's such a difficult time making the decision to put a family member into an assisted living home. Using A Place For Mom to help me find Marymount Villa was a great help. We visited two other places and Marymount was the best one. It was the perfect size for my dad, not too big and not too small. It is beautiful, like a nice hotel. There are places where you can go sit outside and nice blocks to walk around in the area. The people who work there are friendly, happy, patient and are angels in my opinion. It's nice having the option of eating in the dining room with him when we visit. They take him on outings, to his doctor appointments, and have afternoon entertainment every day. I know my dad is safe and well taken care of and the piece of mind in that is priceless. The cost is very much in line with the quality of care that he receives.

Although it has only been a month since my mom has been living at Marymount Villa, I have not seen any problems. The caregivers along with other staff are very friendly and eager to be helpful. I like that my mother is kept busy and around many people.

Everybody is outgoing and they get him to do stuff and he's not pressured into anything. They were very upfront about everything and very helpful. I was hesitant at first because it didn't have an open feeling like another place we looked at, but it was smaller and that's what we wanted, just something more personal. We are very pleased with it, they are very understanding.

Marymount Villa is a very nice facility. I like the way the elevators are close to the rooms. The entire layout really is very nice. I do not have any complaints about it. They seem to do a really great job.
