My loved one was a resident at Morada Lake Hefner and at first this facility was a great place when it was [community removed]. Everything was going great for my loved one until the facility was bought out by Morada. I'm giving this review so that others can avoid this place. I would not recommend any facility that is owned by Morada. It has went through 3 directors and the current one is the worst. Avoid at all cost. The resident did not like the food, always complaining. Nothing is done on the weekends for the residents. I very lazy weekend staff and the no activities.

95% of the Food was very good. The activities director is a fun , party animal, encouraging the residents to join in . She keeps the living dining room area decorated for the seasons. She always had something for the residents to do. Housekeeping was excellent, thoughtful, and caring . Week day and evening shifts were caring, compassionate and knowledgeable. Fell in love with them. But the weekend shifts were lacking. They were lazy, and rude. After Mom passed, I spoke to the administrator about the weekend problems, I hope changes have been made. Great place with a couple of weekend problems.

All would be a 5 for us. [name removed] was so happy being there. The staff loved her and us. They knew us by name and knew her so well that they would give us a call if they felt she was having a bad day or something was just a little off. We trusted them completely.

Overall - Initially it was good but over time we realized that it was a very poorly run facility. Staff- some were very nice but others were rude, stand offish and not very patient. Quality of care - they were not doing things they should have been doing (bathing, cleaning). We had theft issues (money and cigarettes). We had horrible problems with billing. They actually withdrew more money than they were supposed to from her bank account and we had to file fraud with the bank to get the money they over withdrew. Activities - not enough variety. Weekends had virtually nothing going on. Value for cost - cost was reasonable but I wouldn't recommend the place at all.

I would recommend it. Nothing special but not a run down scary place. No complaints really. Staff does a little better job but I think with moms condition, it's tough for anyone to handle her...

We picked this community, for our loved one because it was smaller and more one on one care. They offer great care, and great meals. I would recommend to other families.

Suggestion for improvement: they could hire someone who can handle the responsibility of running the facility. The Executive Director who is there now makes way too many promises that can't be kept. I found out when I was there that he is the third Executive Director in a year. The nurse who was there was also the third in a year. She left also. She told me that she was going to work in a prison where they have to follow all of the rules and regulations. I am not making this up. I'm quoting her verbatim. I was promised that the "chef" would cook things for me that I could eat with my stomach problem. This did not happen. Although, the one chef [name removed] tried very hard. She was only there three days a week because they cut her hours. I ended up having to buy a lot of my own food, which I think is ridiculous given the amount of money that I spent to stay there. Don't even get me started on how they changed me from a Respite to a Resident without my knowledge so that when I tried to leave in the first week of February I didn't get my money back because I didn't give 30 days notice! I was totally unaware of the fact that I had to do that. I was also only given a copy of all of the rules and regulations, etc., etc. a day before I decided to leave. I would not recommend this facility to others. I have heard that they have new owners. I do hope that they get that place running better. They have residents there who are in danger of falling and do fall on occasion. The place is simply not safe unless you are fully mobile and don't have Dementia. I was told that it was not a Memory Care Facility, but they have several people who have Dementia living there.

I would tell them Northhaven may not have been the best choice for my father because I think they were not prepared for the level of care he needed. The staff, with the exception of 2 people- one being the charge nurse, were very friendly and went above and beyond to make dad feel welcome. For the most part the communication with the staff was good. The cook and a couple of the aides were exceptional. Northhaven contracts for home health, PT, and OT. It would have been better for dad if they had been in-house. My father passed away on [date removed] from an infection in his foot that led to other problems. He was extremely depressed while at Northhaven. I believe the entire medical system let him down but I am thankful he is with the Lord.

Northhaven Place is a very small facility. The people were all super nice, but the facility itself definitely needs some updates done to it. That was the main reason we did not choose this facility. I do have a friend who has a loved one here and she does really like it, it just was not the right place for us.

Norhthaven Place probably would have been our second choice, I really loved all the girls here they were so sweet and nice. We were touring during activities and there were a lot of residents participating which was great! But it was very noisy and I don't think my loved one would have liked that. They do need to remodel their carpets. It was also a longer walk for her to get to meals and such. I do think she would have gotten great care here if we were to have chosen them.

I'd like the residents go on a few outings. Of course maybe they don't do that due to covid or lack of transportation. I'm not sure if the policy on outings. I will say it is a wonderful place and my loved one has been very happy. The workers are kind and interact with the residents. The staff has been kind to us when we visit. We picked this community because, it was smaller and very home like feeling. We loved [name removed]! It's also close to our home.

We have experienced wonderful and caring care staff. But there is zero management that is local. The current management is all corporate because they fired the longstanding local director of nursing along with the newer executive director - for cause - and the place is not functioning without local management. Corporate has been very responsive and helpful to me and is trying to make changes. But they simply can't get the place organized without a local management team in place. For instance, showering of our loved one and laundry service have gone by the wayside. The facility itself is nice and had a good reputation previously, but it's a messy situation right now.

Our tour at Northhaven Place was okay. All the places we looked at were very similar, so our decision had more to do with location.
