Very home like!
Reed City Fields gives you such a warm welcome the moment you walk in the door. My grandmother recently moved into this facility and she has had nothing but great things to share with our family. From the activities they have daily to the menu of meals everything is amazing. We are blessed to have our Grandma so well taken care of.

Sad and not nice people
There are a few people that were not nice to my family members. We felt like some people were treated better than my family was treated. Cleaning was not done on a regular basis. One women was hand fed and had lots of 1.1 attention. We were told that we couldn't get 1.1 attention.
My step dad was left to sleep in his chair, in the middle of the common area without socks.
When my Mom arrived one day, an employee said very loudly "his wife is here now so she can babysit him". That was embarrassing and distasteful.
No fresh fruits or veggies.
We were told that if he can't walk on his own, he cannot be there. However, many people were in wheelchairs so what is the difference? One lady is in a wheelchair and being fed every meal. We were told that can't happen.
My mom could not call into his dementia unit and ask how he was doing.
He had to go to ER and they didn't help Mom load him onto the car. She is 75 years old and it wad too much for her.

Happiest my aunts ever been!
My Aunt just moved into The Fields and it’s the happiest she’s ever been! The meals are home cooked fresh meals - the staff are always smiling and willing to help and the residents are all so pleasant and happy! This move was a long time coming but definitely one I wish I would have made sooner!!

Management and Staff are wonderful.
Reed City Fields had a reputation when they first opened and it would have been hard to place a loved one in the building. Now that new management is there it has been a wonderful building where everyone feels welcome. The atmosphere is lighter and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. It seems like everyone I meet loves their job at Reed City Fields.

Our Experience
I was not there everyday, but when I was they served hot dogs or brats with potato chips. Staff was very nice. The facility always looked clean. My mother's bathroom was never clean. After she fell three times, she got bad and hospice was contacted. First fall she broke some ribs, second fall she broke her hip. After she got out of rehab she returned to Reed City Fields. Not long after, she fell again. Hospice was contacted. My sister's and I decided to move her to a different facility, she passed two days later. I think if there was added training maybe I could recommend Reed City Fields.

Great staff & they make it feel as close to home as possible. I would recommend Reed City Fields.
So far they are very good dealing with my Dad. He can be very hard to work with at time's & so far the staff is working with him & making him feel as comfortable as possible there. The communication was great & also helped with respite care that we didn't know they actually did that. No other place actually talked about that service.

Dad calls it HOME..thanks to friendly staff.
They are so caring..treat dad very well but..I have had to be quite vigilant due to dad's medical problems- especially. CHF.. Requested updates don't always happen so need to be actively involved . Keep lines of communication open and take advantage of family day activities to make sure staff know who you are.
