Disappointed that it sold to a big company now - it's all good, it's just when a company comes in after a sale they always think they need to fix the things that aren't broken, change for the sake of change. They did refresh the halls with paint. I've heard they want to eliminate studios to one bedrooms. The value for a studio in this area... great. One bedrooms are expensive. I don't think residents have noticed too much of a change - I think it's the staff, since there are more corporate rules. All in all it's a really great place and has been great for my sister. If she moves on it will only be because she's ready for a new chapter. Some there don't really accept her because she is much younger. The new company actually helped her out with that since the former didn't want to handle the problem.

My brother doesn't go to the dining room as he is quite large & the chairs wouldn't accommodate him. He can call & order a meal & pick it up, but he has trouble walking so he doesn't do that either. Mostly, he has microwavable frozen meals in his room.

We thought we paid to have someone help her get to meals, to shower, etc. Many days she went without a meal because no one came to get her. She felt like she was a burden, like her helpers were too busy, disgruntled about helping her.

Overall, SC Villas is a wonderful community! Our family member adjusted very quickly and loves it there. It has been turned from private ownership to corporate within the past year, so it is tough to say what things may soon look like down the road. Although the building (especially the interior) is a bit dated, they do take good care of it. The social activities and physical activity options are great! Overall, the staff is great! There is a new executive director who, according to our family member, seems to have great enthusiasm! We've had our challenges with the medical care director when it comes to communication and attention to detail. However, the medical staff is friendly and caring. According to our family member, the food quality has decreased (often overcooked) within the past year. We look forward to seeing how the new management will eventually help fill the gaps in the areas that need improvement.

They are very helpful with navigating the care system-including hospital visits, how to decide on a possible transition to increased care (ie- more aid, or move to memory care). Nothing is ever a nuisance to them.

The staff at San Clemente Villas By the Sea are always friendly and helpful! The move in process they make easy and there are not many restrictions. The food, I personally haven't eaten, but the menu always looks good. They also have Chef Hour where he hears from the residents about what they like and what they don't. The housekeeping is great at once a week cleanings. When I have questions, it is easy to call up and get answers. My loved one absolutely loves it here! She is not elderly, but loves the elderly people around her so that's good! She also loves the pool with its ocean view. My loved one was able to get in at a locked rate for 2 years!! I would recommend San Clemente Villas By the Sea for all that it offers for the price. My loved one has a studio, and for the area and all that she is offered at the Villas, it's a great deal!

Our family had an in person tour with San Clemente Villas and the tour was great but the facility is a bit older and just to large looking for my mother. Staff seemed very nice and they have a beautiful entrance.

I think they're fantastic in all regards. There are so many activities-live music 2-3 times a week, exercise classes, bridge, blackjack, movies, and lectures. The food is great and the staff accommodates them in anyway they want for food alternatives. The staff is extremely friendly. I highly recommend the facility.

My Mom recently moved to the Villas and it has been a hard transition from her own home of 50 years to a one bedroom apartment. However, the staff at the Villas have been so amazing during the past two months - caring, helpful, cheerful, kind and patient with her initial "lost-ness". We know that she will eventually settle in and think of the Villas as home. Her health has improved greatly with the careful and consistent oversight of her medications and her diet. We are so grateful to everyone at the Villas for taking such good care of my Mom!

SC Villas by the Sea is a perfect place for my mom. They have outings, bingo and friendly staff. They have birds, a pool, amenities for families. The residents are free to do their own laundry. It's a good place for seniors that are mobile and social.

This is a very nice and comfortable place to move your loved one to when you have to start consider senior living. My mother is doing fine here at San Clemente Villas By The Sea and I am happy with my choice to move her her it is a great place. The community looks great, no concerns regarding cleaning. And the staff has been excellent so far with all the help they have given. My mother hasn't partaken in the activities they offer, she would rather sit in the lobby with the other residents and listen to the music which is nice. The food is delicious, and my mother enjoys it as well. I would highly recommend this community because it is a comfortable place and everyone here is in good spirits.

My wife, an Alzheimer's patient, and I both live here. She's in the memory unit. Shortly after we moved in, the director of the memory unit was fired and replaced by the director of activities of the memory unit. This is like taking an excellent teacher out of the classroom and making her a principal. Kym was an OUTSTANDING activities director: enthusiastic, out-going, dynamic, with great leadership qualities. In fact, she was one of the reasons we moved here! But now, she's in an office most of the time. And her replacement? The owner's daughter!!!!! This daughter has no personality, does not understand music, is constantly unprepared, does not have leadership qualities, and is just completely unprepared for the job. I'm not sure that she really understands dementia or Alzheimer's. I see her at work almost every day. I've talked to most of the staff managers, and even the co-owner himself, Nothing is going to be done. Hands are tied. The co-owner has made up his mind. That's it!

They are a bigger community that are setup kind of like a hotel. When I went to visit this community it just did not seem like it would be a good fit for my loved one. The community was just to big and would not be able to provide a home like feeling.
