The Mansion at Waterford

He's not been able to get on a regular laundry day schedule, but we can request his laundry be done. He thinks the food is good. A couple of times he has called me to get help when he didn't get a response to his call bell, I called the desk to get help for him. He has gone to some activities with music and games. I don't know if the staff offer to assist him with showers, but we have hired extra help to come in to do that. Someone cleans his room weekly, and occasionally someone will come to take out the trash on another day. He seems content there for the situation he's in. Please keep my feedback anonymous. Thank you.

Revie for The Mansion at Waterford

Absolutely a 5 in everything but the menu which is full of starches and carbs, ie rice, potatoes and roll on same plate along with dessert. (Fried fish, French fries and fried okra) I would recommend to others.

Overall not bad

My husband was placed in this facility as a place to rest and heal while he fights stage 4 cancer. He enjoys the food but states that he is regularly bored. One thing I have learned is that most of these facilities are occupied by elderly women. However, there is a nice courtyard outside at the facility where he can get away to enjoy some quiet time outside. I would Rate this facility a 4 because dealing with the administrative staff can be a bit cumbersome.

Would definitely recommend

Everyone was very helpful with the process of getting mom into the Mansion. The place was very clean, people friendly and reasonable price. I didn't feel like I needed to worry about mom at the Mansion. I couldn't say that about the other places she was in.

Menu looks good. Not sure on taste. Value for the money. Too early to rate. I love the facility. It is good. The staff is good, very friendly and caring. Ratio staff to residents in unit is good. Personal observation. Communications with families need work. Trying to learn their procedures as i haven't found a "how to" guide for things such as notification for checking residents out, joining her for a meal (posted meal times in unit is not actual). Not sure how involved the staff is supposed to be in getting residents to change clothes or change linens.

Friendly, caring staff

As children with our parents living at The Mansion, we have been so thankful for some specific individuals: [name removed] was so kind, attentive and helpful when we were inquiring about a move. She was our first impression of The Mansion and made such a positive impact! She was honest and never over promised and didn't rest until my parents got settled into an apartment they were very happy with! Nurse [name removed] has been excellent as well. Her compassion, concern and involvement in my parents' care has been tremendous. Issues have been handled professionally and competently. She has also been very responsive to texts or calls. She knows my parents and their needs and takes personal interest in their care plan. It's very reassuring for us as children having [name removed] in our corner when we can't be with our parents fulltime. Another star for us at The Mansion is [name removed]. He is a gem! He was so friendly, kind and helpful during our moves. Any maintenance issues we noticed have been addressed quickly. These three employees specifically made us feel welcomed into The Mansion family!

Not a place I would recommend

I would tell other families that if you are in an assisted living facility and you have to have a PICC line they won't let you stay there but they will continue to charge you for your apartment and all the food that you're not there to eat. So families need to be aware of that potential financial burden. This is not a place that I would recommend.

A great place for your loved one

My uncle [name removed] lived here for the remainder of his life, and I can't say enough positive things about this place. The staff is incredibly caring and treats the residents like family. The team at the Mansion is attentive to every detail, from maintaining the building to providing excellent medical care. They even offer daily activities to ensure that residents who are unable to leave the community have plenty to do. This is a wonderful and trustworthy place for your loved one to call home.

Excellent care!

The Mansion has wonderful staff and caregivers, great food, and lovely facilities! They check on residents frequently to ensure their comfort and safety. We only wish we had moved there sooner! So grateful for such compassionate staff.

They could improve on staff to family member communication on routine matters. I need to be more proactive as well in asking questions. I love that they have a level of care in between assisted living and all-out memory care.

Mansion at Waterford

I had to move my mom at the first of the year. They are very friendly but they are short staffed and really didn't give the service we were promised. New management at the end of last year didn't help the situation,

Wait time for assistance may be a concern

The wait time for assistance when getting to the bathroom can stretch to 45 minutes at times. This is the main concern my mom has - the long wait times.

Our Experience

My loved one is a resident at The Mansion at Waterford and isn't very happy there, mainly due to the renovations and lack of a kitchen. The place has been torn up since early November and is still a mess. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The food is awful-again, no kitchen and it is cold. I was just told a few days ago that their Director was fired. I don't know why, but I would guess due to mismanagement concerning renovations. Christmas was dismal- one tree put up for the day and then taken down. Until they get their act together, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Review for The Mansion at Waterford

They are all lacking in things. The Mansions treat the tenants very well; however they seem short staffed. You have to really pay attention to what is accomplished and what's not. Most places wanted to just put her in memory care. The one we really wanted was full. Mansions looks like hotel and it's price wasn't as expensive as others on that scale. They promised intense assisted living. My mother has dementia. She needs more than regular assisted living but not ready for memory care.
