GREAT OPTION

Staff has been great. My Dad likes the food. Wish they had a Diabetic menu in addition to regular food. He can pick and choose, but he won't do that. Great experience so far and price has worked well with Dad's finances. Participates in some activities.

Great value living space, excellent staff, inconsistent food.

The staff is very kind but very behind on modern technology. I have never received an actual statement with a total of all of our billing. Bills seem to be accurate but only after a lot of scrubbing for details

Rapacious

I left after exactly 1 year at The Rose of CB. There was more than one reason, but the primary was the multiple rent/Open Armes combined increases within the year. And, based on their track record, I anticipated yet another increase after I sold my condo in Omaha this year. Everything is "light" at best, e.g., meals (required at least one), both housekeeping/laundry is ale cart (extra charges). I placed two workorder requests to enable the use of a faux outlet to prevent overloading existing outlets. (I can only assume the work to extensive and cost prohibited.) No follow-up. They furnish heat via a radiant system, which is not always reliable to provide comfort required. I can only attest to my experience as a private payer, hopefully not as a server of a bowl of "sour grapes".

I would 100% recommend this community.

There are a couple of things we like about The Rose of Council Bluffs. 1. The location. At first it appears to be somewhat secluded but it makes for a very quiet/peaceful neighborhood environment. There are convenient shops and restaurants relatively close and almost all of them deliver to include groceries like Hy-Vee 2. The independence/freedom to come and go. I really had no idea what to expect but now that my dad has moved in, he is able to come and go as he pleases. Additionally, the apartment space is fantastic. Easy to navigate and is very spacious

Has some room for improvements

It was a rocky start. Bad start over medicated low oxygen, dehydrated, hadn't been eating, and several falls last one almost killed me in hospital and rehab 25 days. I had to go to rehab to learn how to walk again wasn't real happy the way things were going I did recover, but I never got the full use of my legs back. I now use a walker where I didn't when I first came here. It's better now, but it doesn't feel like home.

The good, the bad, and the somewhat ugly

Some meals are okay, some are pretty mediocre. Overall the cleanliness of the building is good, but the laundry rooms are kind of trashed. The nursing staff and maintenance guy are wonderful. Administrator is pretty good, I think she is getting more comfortable in her job and that helps pretty much. I do realize this is an assisted living and expect to pay for the extras, but the rent alone is pretty high I think.

Highly recommend

The Rose of Council Bluffs is a very nice, spacious and well laid out community. The administrator has been wonderful to work with so far. At the moment we do not believe our loved one is taking advantage of the activities but we do know they have a lot to offer. We would recommend this community to others families searching for their loved ones.
