Overall a very nice community
My father is the resident and the only thing that he really wish would be better with the food, but I'm sure you hear that a lot. Yes, we would recommend The Sterling Aventura to other families based on the experience so far.

I lived here for several years and I don’t know what’s happening the state is here almost every couple of weeks , the staff turnover is horrible , residents have left, management changed which is worst , French menus ? No menus on the weekend , care staff overworked, the nurse loo stressed

[name removed], Director of Sales, made the entire process pleasant and painless, even after lease signed. Other staff were equally helpful. My uncle enjoyed his brief stay and felt at home. My wife and I observed lots of activities but my uncle was a loner and didn't participate.

Great place so far my mother loves her room , enjoys her food ,and has great care , only recommendation need have more fun activities for my mother seems repetitive,Elevators could be faster it takes so long or elevator is not working.

I think that for people that don't need any special care , this place exceed any expectation. But in the case my mom , with disability, and level 3 of care , sometimes I get very frustrated. They don't exceed my expectations. I would recommend this place for any person with lower level of care . For sure.

The facility was clean and well maintained. The staff was responsive to my parents needs whenever I brought something up. The food was very good. The rooms were spacious. Although my parents were bilingual, their first language was Spanish, so I do wish that they would've had some more Spanish-speaking staff.

If you love your parents, do not walk—run in the other direction from The Sterling. Placing my parents here has been one of the most painful and regrettable decisions of my life. What should have been a place of comfort and dignity has become a site of manipulation, exclusion, and emotional harm. The executive director, [name removed], has demonstrated a shocking lack of compassion and professionalism. Her actions have not only undermined the core values of caregiving and family unity but have caused immense emotional damage to both my parents and myself. Rather than fostering healing and connection, she has leveraged her position to isolate, control, and alienate. Despite being my parents’ primary caregiver for years, I was forcibly removed from the facility—humiliated, berated, and treated like a trespasser in the lives of the people I love most. My parents, who repeatedly ask for me and express a desire to see me, are being denied their basic right to maintain familial bonds.

I love the kindness of the staff. Assisted living residents have regular in-lobby entertainment provided. However, in the memory care unit, there is definitely very little extra curricular activities for the residents and there are no off-site activities ever such as bus rides/scenic tours.

We have moved my 95 year old mother to assisted living gor the first time. Staff at the Sterling were very supportive and did everything they could to make the transition a success. Very pleased with the Sterling

[name removed] was very helpful and informative about their facility, activities, staff, etc. Move-in was well coordinated and stress free. There were some problems transferring my Mom's medications from Walgreens to their pharmacy provider (Guardian) but that got resolved after a few phone calls.

Proper training management, guidance and accountability of staff. Even with a private-out of pocket aid for my dad he had 3 UTI's because of lack of care. The last infection caused a severe bleed for several hours when the aid found him his bed was soaked in blood. No one had come into his room (not even to feed him) at [time removed] he was rushed to hospital. We could not obtain any explanation as to why no one notice for cared to do the "required" morning check and feeding. Their disorganization and severe lack of staffing and caring for patients that we witnessed was the total opposite of what they promised when we moved my dad into the facility,

First off the staff are amazing from sales team members showing us around , the building little outdated with some work Needed like the carpet but overall satisfied, the food and dining experience is excellent, great chef , active is is amazing . And the one nurse is so great and helpful for my mother overall 10/10

Amazing staff felt welcomed , many things to do close to shops and pharmacy . My father raves about the great food provided , Wish the transportation was 5 days a week but still convenient, the happy hours are exciting a little repetitive but still love the entertainment

The staff makes a whole difference in this community. My father feels so welcomed and so appreciative of how he has been treated. I would Highly recommend this place. They have spectacular food, great activities and close to good shops.

My mother loved it at the sterling from The professionaliam of the staff the delicious Food from dining and the good activities, they have good events , Great care is given to my mother which makes me so comfortable to Know she is safe and happy good job !

The Sterling is conveniently located in the heart of Aventura. The staff are caring and kind. There are plenty of activities to keep residents busy, and they also have a bus to take them on outings to restaurants and shops. The food is fairly good - probably gets repetitive after a while, but they do their best to accommodate special needs. The rooms are quite large and adequate for most needs. I would recommend this facility.

It's been almost 2 years since my father passed, and I don't know who is still working there, but [names removed] were a large part of the reason we had such an amazing experience. I would, without hesitation, tell a friend to sign the lease. We picked them because of the location, management and that they had a secure outside smoking area

Our family arrived from out of town, not knowing how to help our father move out of his home to a place that he would feel relaxed and happy. We contacted a Place For Mom and [name removed] was wonderful in giving us a list of places that might work for us. She made us feel like she was helping her personal family members & and was always there to answer questions. After visiting many of the places on the list, we all fell in love with The Sterling in Aventura. It was an area we all knew, and the facility was everything we hoped for. Instead of walking into an assisted living facility, we felt we were walking into a hotel. [name removed] took us under his wing, and made the move for our father as seamless as possible. Our father has continued to improve under the care of The Sterling, and we feel that we found the right place for his future. The attention and care we received from both [name removed] and [name removed] was in dispensable and we are forever grateful.
