Good on the Outside, Greedy on the Inside

Assisted Living facilities are BIG BUSINESS. This owner suddenly became unreachable when we tried to recover some of my father's funds after his two night stay. Furthermore, she was to give us a copy of the contract but that never happened. Advice: Get a copy of the contract in advance, modify it to accommodate the needs of your parent. If it is not agreed upon, then find another facility. This is about your loved one, not the business. Ensure that there are no hidden fees, such as the unmentioned "community fee", that was sprung upon us on the day we took our father in. These business have no respect for the families who are trying to do the best they can for their parents. Our father served in two wars, and earned every cent spent. He deserves so much more respect than this. Onto the Ombudsman.
