The staff, of which there were many and you always saw them, were very kind and caring to my mom. The staff always recognized my father and told him where she was. There were many activities to participate in or not. During my mom's end of life they were very caring and supportive for the whole family.

ActivCare at Rolling Hills Ranch welcomes seniors to a warm resort-like memory care community nestled in a residential area. Surrounded by lively greenery, the community is located in the suburban area of Chula Vista, California, which is southeast of San Diego and is within minutes of the local hospital.
Since 2013, ActivCare at Rolling Hills Ranch has been offering specialized care with cozy living accommodations. Trained caregivers and on-site licensed nursing staff provide round-the-clock memory care and supervision. These caregivers undergo continuous educational programs to stay up to date on current memory care practices. While all receive equal care, residents are separated according to their current stage of Alzheimer’s disease or other type of dementia — these can range from beginning stages to end of life stages, including hospice care. In the community’s five neighborhoods are private and semi-private bedroom options.
While living at ActivCare at Rolling Hills Ranch, residents have access to homey amenities and an activity program. Throughout the community are beautiful murals in themed common rooms. The facility was clean and the staff were engaged with residents. It seemed like everyone knew my mom’s name. Good activities and outings. Food could have been better. Loved the 24/7 LVN presence and the facility seemed well-equipped to handle any contingency. Working through the staff on medical issues with the mobile Dr. presented challenges and it took several requests to get something resolved. Great housekeeping and maintenance and ample caregivers were present. [name removed] and [name removed] were wonderful to help move us in (and out).

I liked that they let us come visit multiple times to help make us feel at ease of placing mom there. The staff has been great through the whole process. They do not seem to stick to the activities that they have listed on the calendar. Definitely feel like we are paying top dollar, but feel like mom is being taken well care of.

My parents live at ActivCare at Rolling Hills Ranch. It's a very clean facility. The caregivers are very friendly and empathetic with all of the residents, you can see them many times, hugging them, smiling at them and talking to them. The housekeeping is in order, they wash the clothes and the sheets on a regular basis and my parents are changed with clean clothes every day. The showers are scheduled, so they always get them on time. The activities are great, the ladies who are in charge have a lot of energy and are very friendly, so they make the activity very fun and the residents are included. The food is well prepared and it follows the doctor's recommendations. They have a permanent nurse, so at any moment they can provide help. They are in touch with the Pharmacy and the primary doctors in case they need supply, refills, and new orders from the doctors. As with any Memory Care facility, sometimes the staff can be short due to different reasons, but they make sure to call an agency to provide caregivers to help that day. Sometimes this can decrease the quality of work a little bit, because these new caregivers are not familiar with all of the specific needs that each of residents have. The facility has a big room where most of the activities take place, it works as a dining room and activities room. This area has easy access to two beautiful gardens where the residents can enjoy fresh air. It is always cleaned and the trees trimmed, it has flowers and a little path that they can walk through. During my dad's birthday they made him feel very special. They decorated his dining table and the door of his room with congratulations notes and drawings. They brought a cake and sang Happy Birthday to him. All of them hugged him, and he really was very happy. All residents have many specific necessities, and I can tell that the caregivers do their best to fulfill all of them and I understand when they can't sometimes cover all of them. The person in charge of the nurses and caregivers is always available through text and she replies very fast. Any concern or comment you want to give, she does all to solve it. The ladies at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. [name removed], who is in charge of admissions, makes everything very easy to help the families with this process. The facility is always secured and the ladies at the front desk let you in with a specific code. Also, to get out of the place you need to use your code. They also have a record of who comes in and out, so you always have to check in and check out. ActivCare at Rolling Hills Ranch is definitely is a place that becomes home and I recommended it 100% for a person who is looking for a great Memory Care facility.

My loved one settled in well at ActivCare. The staff are warm and caring. The food is one area that could use improvement. It tends to be bland; overcooked pasta and vegetables.

I toured this community for my mom's care. I liked the staff and they were helpful. The community is clean and maintained. They do need to update the community so it felt like it had a better touch for the residents. They offer activities and a nice menu. We would recommend that other families tour this community for the care that is needed for loved one.

I toured here when I was looking around for options. I was really impressed with them. They were my first choice. Unfortunately they didn't accept dogs, and that was a deal breaker for us. I liked them a lot.

My dad has only been there a short time. The food is excellent. They are conveniently located. There is an outdoor area for residents. The staff is friendly and I can let you know that the community is very clean.

This is a beautiful facility - very clean and nice. It's homey and staff is friendly, informative and helpful. This new (it was opened last October) home was built specifically for those with dementia/Alzheimers - it's very safe and the staff there know just how to care for these folks. No price gouging or "points" system here either. We feel at peace knowing dad is in a warm, safe and loving environment.
