Brookdale Centre Pointe Boulevard meets the needs of those with dementia and memory loss by offering one-on-support and specialized features. With color-coding throughout the community, as well as circular walking areas, staff is able to guide residents gently and easily throughout their day in a calm and soothing environment.
Our small community is located on the northeast side of Tallahassee, Florida. Tallahassee — the state capital of Florida — is famous for its red, rolling hills. The Gulf of Mexico’s beaches are less than one hour away from the city, which offers families plenty of sunshine and adventure, if desired.
Safety is a number-one priority here. Highly trained staff members are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency. A 24/7 emergency response system, keypad entryways, and monitored entrances and exits are also in place to provide peace of mind and added protection.
Through the Clare Bridge program, we emphasize a person-centered approach to care. It’s designed to preserve residents' identity and helps them flourish even in the advanced stages of dementia. My sister was only there for less than one month and was under Hospice care for two weeks. The only thing I was not pleased with was the lack of assistance with personal grooming. Otherwise, I give them a 5 out of 5.

The patients seem happy and well cared. The employees seem to genuinely like the residents. Hugs are given and received. They know how to interact and help them feel at ease. The entire facility is clean. It doesn’t smell like covered up grossness. It is clean. The one young lady that I see the most constantly makes sure everything is spotless. Their laundry is clean, folded and returned to the room. I have received pictures of current activities that include my husband. He loves the food and every time I have been there at dinner time, he cleans his plate. I could not have dreamed of a better situation for my husband to spend his final days.

Nice looking facility, showing some signs of age. Emphasis on activities a big plus. Executive administrator very responsive to any concerns. Also a very caring person toward residents. Staff turnover is probably comparable to any other facility. The top-down caring attitude is emphasized. Intervention and redirection are used by staff. Nursing care is excellent.

The staff are very caring , attentive and friendly (mostly). My father has become more lively and sociable since he became acclimated to the facility, other patients and care he is receiving .

I am sorry but my experience was very bad. My husband was accepted, we thought and had his room move in ready for the following day and we received a phone call the night before that the nurse said they could not accept him. From the very beginning we were honest that he had progressive super nuclear palsy. As it turned out we kept him at home and he died in [date removed] Therefore I would be very cautious to give a recommendation to this facility.

The admin staff worked very hard to learn about my resident's special needs and to train the aides. The admin staff were highly attentive and responsive. The daily activities were fairly limited, but the outings were imaginative and fun. There was very high aide turnover, which led to miscommunication and decreased quality of care. The food was consistently bland, overcooked, and portions were small. All understandable to some extent, but alternatives such as fresh fruit, yogurt, and cereal should have been available. The small size of the facility (only 30-odd residents) was a huge plus

1' across the board very bad experience at a very high cost!!!!!!!!!!! We were very dissatisfied with Brookdale their management team was very unprofessional corporate was unresponsive to phone calls and the man that recruited us for Brookdale named [name removed] was without a doubt the rudest person I've ever met!!!!! We would recommend any facility other than brookdale!!!!!!

I would give them a 5 on everything but 6 and 7. My husband does not like the food and feels they don't try to accommodate his needs. The activities are repetitive and are mostly one size fits all. They have patients with a range of abilities that could be enhanced. It is up to the families to provide activities for their loved one. That said, overall I am satisfied with Brookdale.

The visual appeal of the sun area is good, but they need more frequent room checks. Based on the experience we have had so far, we are unsure we would recommend Brookdale Centre to other families at this time.

My Mom is happy with Brookdale. She is rather stubborn about taking a shower and changing her clothes. She either does not remember what she just wore but they are not real forceful in getting her to do either. We have talked to them about it so I am going to try to be there when her shower is scheduled to see if I can start her on a routine. I know they care about the residents and they seem to be short staffed from time to time. But they are always willing to work with us. As long as she is happy and eating well and participating in most activities, we are satisfied with the choice. The atmosphere is very homey which is what we really liked. Also it is not a hugh facility which does not seem overwhelming to my Mom. I know situations will come up but they are just a part of caring for everyone's needs and they are pretty much easily fixed.

Smaller facility (about 35 residents) is a big plus. The rooms are decent size, but do not have individual thermostats. The patios are pretty, though need more frequent cleaning due to high pollen counts here. Staff are friendly and helpful. The facility smells fine. The food is bland and repetitive, and what is served never matches the posted menu. Review the invoices diligently. The facility is very helpful in clearing up strange charges that appear.

It is small (35 residents), with a stable and experienced staff. The facility is on one floor (no stairs or elevators) and in quiet but very convenient neighborhood. It is a beautiful building with lots of openness and light. The staff encourages communication with the families and someone knowledgeable is always available. I am not impressed with the food but it appears to be nutritious and adequate. The administration is very helpful in trying to offer my husband choices and options. They have also dealt professionally with mental health issues and medical emergencies. They have made me feel comfortable that we are a team
