My mom unfortunately passed away in January. The move to Brookdale of Pocatello was the best move possible. [name removed] made the move effortless for my mom and I.

My mother was found on the toilet unresponsive and almost died there now they want three times the money and $[removed] a month to take her dog out to poop. I'm fighting like hell to keep her out of there but my sister is the power of attorney and she doesn't have the compassion that she needs to be the power of attorney for my mother everything I'm hearing about this place they yell at people they leave them in urine soaked situations I'm going to get a lawyer and probably go after them for incompetency and leaving my mother there for quite a while before they found her. They feed him a bunch of carbs and carbs are bad for old people they're all just about money and nobody really gives a [removed] about him in there. The CEO of this place makes over [removed] a year they pay their employees minimal like around $[removed] a year and they are understaffed underpaid.

I had some issues with Brookdale Pocatello. I think both parties, myself and Brookdale, didn’t know what we were dealing with as far as the extent of my loved one's dementia, so it ended up not being a good place for her. She couldn't follow Covid protocols during lockdown because she didn’t understand / couldn't remember. Her memory issues aside, I thought it was a very nice place. The majority of the staff were understanding. But the new nurse coordinator was very militant about the rules, which I know likely came from a place of overall caring for the business and the patients. But I did not receive empathy from her, or from the facility manager. And it felt like they just pushed my loved one out instead of working together with me to get her to a more suitable place for her.

This community was not too good. It smelled like an old place and they kept calling me hoping that we would go with this community and we just knew that this community would not work out for us. The tour was nice and the people were nice the building was just not what we were looking for.

Make sure that your family member is equipped for this type of community. They don't have any type of memory care here. I explained to them what my loved one was going through, and they just accepted her anyway. And then one month after she moved in, they said that they couldn't take care of her anymore. Half the staff is very helpful, and the nurses are saints. But upper management is a little staunch, just very opinionated and abrasive. The food that I tried was more like kid food, things like chips and hamburgers. But on rare occasion they'll serve things like salmon.

We chose Brookdale Pocatello because they were prompt and responsive. They gave us a tour when we asked for one and they met our criteria. The staff members are very friendly and helpful and they are excellent with communication, they send me pictures periodically of activities she is participating in. The facility is in a great setting and I cannot go on enough about the wonderful staff members. I would highly recommend them.

Some of the staff were good and others weren't as good. I wasn't happy with the care. I didn't trust my loved one being there. There was a medical issue that happened that the staff said my loved one wanted attention. Due to the pandemic they had my loved one in their room, when they should have had them out with other residents.

Words cannot express the appreciation I have for staff. They truly care about residents and their needs and choices. I have a family member Who was very happy and loved being here. Homelike clean environment. Rooms are bigger here than other facilities.

This is the best facility we toured and seemed to be the best place my parents would like. Unfortunately, my mother passed away the day they were supposed to move, but my Father still moved here. The staff goes above and beyond expectations. The atmosphere here is a lot nice that some of the places we toured. My Father calls it a hotel all the time! The dining room is great and has a restaurant feel. My dad can order off a menu and doesn't have to eat the same thing every day. What I really liked is on move-in day, my dad couldn't take things from his home. Of course, his room comes unfurnished. Brookdale was wonderful in working with us and they actually furnished his room for us. The only thing we had to do was buy him a TV! I highly recommend this facility.

I love this community. I am happy with the cleanliness. It is a positive atmosphere. The other residents are so nice and friendly. This was a good decision for me to move into the community. They have a lot of nice activities for me to stay actives. I highly recommend other families to this community for a great place to live with a great value

Things are going so well since my mother in law moved into this community. The place is fantastic! She was against moving in at first, but now that she has settled in she loves it. Every time that she needs something there is someone there to help her. She feels secure and that is her favorite thing about the place. She tries to do activities, but for the ones she is not able to do, she still goes down just to interact with the ladies. She loves the outings when they drive them to places.

My mom had a few issues here ay this community that needed to be worked on. The staff is nice and friendly. She has been happy with the community being clean and taken care of. She likes the meals and the good variety. She does participate in a lot of activities with other residents. I would recommend the care that is given here and the value.

The staff are attentive and watch out for my brother. I think they are a little understaffed, however the staff they do have is wonderful. I wish they offered a few more outings. We like the food as most of it is homemade and they offer a variety of vegetables. The person I spoke to before he moved in is very friendly. She was open and honest about things and listened to what I had to say. They are very accommodating and I would recommend this community.

I really like that my mother has friends in the community this is keeping her engaged in activities. The meals are of great portion and good taste there are no complaints. Her room is always kept clean and organized the staff does a good job. I would recommend the community the staff is nice and they keep my loved one safe.

I really like the staff there at Emeritus at Highland Hills. They seem to be very caring and genuinely concerned about the health and well-being of the residents. The food is really good there also.
