Very good care
My mom has been here for about 4 years she's 91 and I love it they take very good care of her staff is amazing friendly attentive and clean I would recommend this place for anybody who has a family member with memory issues!

Our one-story community features a peaceful garden, an enclosed courtyard, and a home-like environment. At Brookdale Torbett, residents receive person-centered memory care services that help to maintain their identity and provide a sense of purpose. Our community was built for the safety of residents with dementia-related memory loss. With a 24-hour security system and enclosed walking areas, residents can feel a strong sense of independence while safely exploring the grounds.

For any immediate medical needs, you’ll find peace of mind knowing that we’re only minutes away from Kadlec Regional Medical Center Main Hospital. Our staff is also available on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency.
Through the Clare Bridge program, you will live amongst residents with similar cognitive abilities. Staff encourages social interaction and engagement through activities and events. Residents can enjoy memory-friendly exercise classes like chair yoga or bean bag toss, art projects, puzzles, and live music performances. My stepdad moved her into Brookdale last month and is settling in quite nicely! The staff is very kind to my mom, she told me everyone she has talk to has been so nice. Love that they have a bus to take residents out to the Mall or wherever, so great! Everything is clean and updated, it's such a nice place! My Mom is doing so well at Brookdale! [name removed].

My mother, now 96, has spent 8 years at [community removed] when she needed assisted living, and now perhaps 10 years at Brookdale Torbett just 1/4 mile away, where they helped to move her when her dementia caused her to need to be in a more controlled memory care environment. I cannot say enough for the management and staff of these facilities. Over this many years there have been plenty of opportunities for me to see any indication of a lack of care or caring, and I've seen none of that. Its unusual in such a small facility, but it isn't often that they don't have 3-4 caregivers on the floor working with the residents just on my mom's side of this relatively small facility. And my mother is in love with everyone who works there: caregivers, administrative staff, nursing & health & wellness staff, and management. Through the coronavirus, lots of other illnesses that routinely attack elder facilities, and normal day-to-day living, these people really care for their residents.

The community is very clean. The staff is friendly and is always willing to help. The staffing ratio is very good compared to similar properties, and the residents are well taken care of. I would recommend.

My grandma is no longer at this facility as she did not receive the care she needed. I would not recommend it to anyone. The staff appeared to have no direction or accountability. Every time I would show up it smelled so strong of urine, the residents were wondering on their own with staff no where to be seen. My grandma went weeks without showers or her bedding changed wearing the same dirty clothes. Do not put your loved ones here.

My experience with Brookdale was not what I expected. My mother passed away there and every time I went to visit her especially during hospice no one from the facility checked on her. Staff was supposed to check on her every 15 minutes but no one showed up in her room while I was there. Her room on several visits required cleaning. The food was terrible, often times cold. My mother was very upset being there. If I had to do it again I would hire in home care for her.

I might recommend it. When we first went there there was a lot of staff turnover. It was not clean and the care was not good, but after that overhaul it got better.

The overall experience is fine - we are still struggling with staff finding ways on their own to get her to shower. With the care services, same thing, it takes my mom or I being present to get her to shower and it feels like staff thinks it's easier so they just wait until we show up to attempt. They say they "prompt" her but she refuses. It is frustrating.

There is too much staff turnover even at executive director level, internal communications and coordination between staff members could use improvement. The common areas smell at times, Room cleanliness OK, but not great. The staff are friendly even though staff turnover is a problem. I feel like issues noted above with internal communication and coordination and staff turnover impacts quality of care. [name removed] has very few complaints about his meals. The activities are hard to judge. I don't think [name removed] participates in many of the activities, if any. [name removed] is on Medicaid, so cost is not an issue at this time.

I toured this facility a couple of weeks ago, I was very impressed with the staff members and the facility itself. The staff members were knowledgeable,The food looked very appetizing, the facility was nice and clean and the assortment of activities being provided was fun and engaging to all the residents. Happy smiling faces all around. Overall loved it. Very pleased.

I had a friend who moved his wife into Brookdale, and that's why I chose to tour with them. No one else is as good as Brookdale, and I won't be going anywhere else for my wife's care. I had the best experience on my tour and they were super helpful.
