Review for The Village of Bear Creek

The facility has very comfortable, single rooms. The food is fine, good. It's located off Wadsworth in Littleton. I had my room furnished from home because I'm staying here for awhile and my 2 kids live here.

Cadence Lakewood Review

They made my sister move out; unless she could walk 50 steps to the bathroom and back. She has incontinence. She also doesn't walk well, so I'm sure she had accidents. She also didn't always get showers on a timely manner; sometimes if it was late she would decline it. I don't know all the details of her time there. My niece is moving her to a nursing home; once she gets out of rehab. I wasn't there enough to get to know many of the staff, we loved the previous director though.

Pleasant

It depends on your family member's condition. We didn't realize at the time that our loved one was moving in that they would need more assistance. If your loved one would need some light assisted living, I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. Just like other companies right now, they seem to have some turnover and trouble getting staffing from agencies.

A Wonderful Place

Compared to other places, it's affordable. We picked this community because it was close to my home, it was a smaller community which was better for my loved one, and the staff was really nice. It felt good, and did not have smell. The Director is very kind, active, and involved, and takes care of any issues. I would recommend to other families.

Started well, then went very down hill

The facility is lovely with fairly well-maintained grounds and walking paths. There are lots of activities available if your loved one can be convinced to participate. The staff are caring, and the food is okay. The problem is the lack of administrative oversight of the Health Care and Medication Administration. The facility was without nursing oversight for over 6 weeks, and my loved one was caught in a medication mess. The administrator was alerted, but literally ignored all of my attempts to get help. If you are considering this facility, I strongly suggest that you inquire about the state requirement for on-sight nursing, and find out if this is still an issue. And stay on top of it...

Friendly Staff

We picked this community because it was the staff, and the overall feel of the place. They offer activities, such as;-outside activities, fitness, and movies. They do well with the intraction and getting to know my loved. They can improve communication. Overall, I would recommend it to other families.

Really Nice Environment

My loved one was there a short period of time. They were all very nice, but were often short staffed. They were all very helpful. The value for the money was average.

I would recommend

We really like that Cadence Lakewood is a smaller size community - the staff members are able to have more of that one on one time with the residents and give them more of a personal touch, even the care givers can agree. They have plenty of activities for the residents to do - different exercise classes, arts and crafts and they even make bracelets.

Cadence Lakewood review

The Cadence Lakewood has been great so far, we really like how friendly the staff members have been, they have just been great with our loved one and super patient. We would recommend this community to other families based on our experience. We do wish they could encourage our loved one to get involved more with all the different activities they have going on throughout the week.

Overall I'm happy, and leadership has been responsive to any concerns.

I think the staff is friendly, but I also think that there is difficulty in keeping consistency with the staff. There has been some turnover. There are a few on staff that have been terrific, and there are a few that maybe aren't permanent. And it seems like there's not good communication between leadership and them about what their responsibilities are. The living spaces are nice and large, and the housekeeping staff is excellent. Cleanliness of the common areas is great as well. My loved one is not as happy with the food as she was at a previous place that she lived. Her main complaint is the vegetables are overcooked and mushy. She would also like to see more green salads and more variety in general.

Very Pleased

The staff is warm and friendly. Mom speaks very highly about how kind everyone is. They are short-handed due to COVID so the service can be slow at times.

Okay place. Not great, but not bad.

They seem to be on top of things. They have tight security and Covid precautions were all in place and followed well. They provided good services and the staff are excellent, but they're just understaffed. Especially during the night shift. They were lacking people and quality of people at night. The food was okay, just a little monotonous. They had a fair amount of activities, bingo and all that. I think the cost is pretty fair compared to other places out there.

A secure and happy place

This is a great place if your loved one can get up and walk and do a lot of things for themselves. I've only been able to visit twice since we moved in during Covid. Everything that I could see looked clean. It's been hard not getting to see very much of anything firsthand. The care seems to be good based on the phone calls I have with them. They all seem like they're really on top of things. The staff that I've met have been great, and very helpful. Right now they're basically bending over backwards to care for my loved one, even though they're not equipped to handle higher care needs. It has been just amazing. I have to give them a thumbs up on everything really. I've found it to be an affordable place. I just wish my loved one was able to take advantage of everything they offer She took a downhill turn and hasn't been able to experience it fully.

A good place for mom

Overall, I think they are doing a good job. The caregivers are all very caring and open with things. in general, the nurses, the administration, and all the staff are wonderful. The only issue we are dealing with is they are not as communicative as they could be. For example, my mother falls a lot, and although they do take actions to prevent the falls, they only contact us for major falls and not the minor ones. It is also difficult to get information about her health, which is very frustration for us. I will say that they have been responsive to working with us to remedy the communicate issues, which is a positive.

We enjoyed [name removed] meeting and tour with us. She answered most of our questions thoroughly. The facility appears well kept and the staff we did meet were friendly. As this was our first tour, we have nothing to compare it to at this point..

So many things wrong at Brookdale

Had our mother at Brookdale Lakewood for 5 months before she passed. This facility had nothing but one issue after another. They went through several management changes during that time and things never got any better despite promise after promise. We paid for extra assistance in every category but mom very rarely received that assistance. I visited mom a couple times a week so saw lots first hand. All I can say if you chose this facility for a family member make sure you pay attention or your loved one will be left on thier own for the most part.

Not impressed right now

My mom is in this smaller community she has a cute studio. I have mixed emotions. But they have been very understaffed and I've made several complaints because they say her call light was broke. [removed] has been a big help, when I couldn’t reach corporate I called her and she helped me get in touch with them. So 1 day she called for an hour and a half to use the restroom and she finally did it herself and could have fallen. So they said her call light was fixed but it happened again and she had fallen and used call light and laid on the floor for 30-45 min and noone came luckily she crawled to her cell phone at 90 yrs old and called the front desk. I just feel that is negligent and can be fixed. The facility itself is nice and her room is always clean they will do her laundry and make her bed. She gets 3 good meals a day. They will try to engage her with the activities.
