Hood and plenty of manicured parks, Canby is perfect for seniors and families looking for peace and quiet. For those wanting to experience an exciting food scene or to check out a few museums or concerts, downtown Portland is just a 30-minute drive away.</p> <p>Countryside Living - South is a mid-size memory care community in the center of town. Groomed lawns and gardens flank the walkway up to the building, which is modern and comforting. It was designed to look and feel like a large house, and this is just one of the many ways Countryside Living - South incorporates the best practices of memory care into its services. Families benefit from being able to choose the best option for their loved ones from a variety of floor plans, such as shared or private rooms. The entire community, including its outdoor spaces, is secured with keypad entry to keep all the residents safe.</p> <p>Opened in 1999, this community provides full-time memory care along with adult day care, which gives families a break from daily caregiving duties. While a registered nurse is on staff, the community also coordinates with local physicians. Staff members plan a range of activities seven days a week&nbsp;to keep residents busy. At least once a month, families are invited for a picnic or barbecue and the residents enjoy frequent classes, outings, and other social events. The entire staff, from the coordinators to the caregivers, undergo extensive training that surpasses state requirements.
