Harbor House has been a good experience, and they are taking good care of my loved one. [name removed] is wonderful to work with and keeps in communication with the family about our loved one and provides updates. The staff is able to accommodate assistance for my loved one with daily living activities. My loved one is eating the food provided and this is impressive as they didn't eat for want to eat for a of couple years.

Harbor House was one of the first residential communities in New York dedicated to patients with Alzheimer’s disease and memory impairments. We had several delays in the initial process to get her in. Several tests, medical assessment forms and much more. That was a bit frustrating but we got through it. The people, staff, caregivers were all very friendly and helpful there. My mother would need to have someone to help push her into those activities and such but when she did she enjoyed them. Especially Exercise.

My loved one usually eats the soup as they don't care for the food as it can be cold by the time the aides feed the residents that needs this first. Some of the aides aren't as kind as they could be to the residents. The community isn't changing my loved one's clothes as often as they could be. Ideally they would be changing the residents once a day for the clothing, and this isn't happening.

The staff has been excellent. They take my loved one down to meals to make sure they eat. This has been an excellent experience for us and my loved one. The staff are always willing to talk to me if I have any questions or concerns I have. There is a hair salon on site.

It is a warm caring place. It is worth considering for your loved one. Their willingness to communicate with the family stands out to me. My loved one likes to be busy with the lovely activities; I just wish there were more for them to do,

It has been hard due to us now getting to interact with all the staff. I would suggest you look at another community. I believe we were sold a bill of goods. I've not been seeing activities being available for the residents. The community isn't doing another to stimulate the minds of the residents, when I am there.

Our family has had an amazing experience so far, we came from a really bad experience and Harbor House has been amazing from top to bottom. They are angles the way they care for our loved one and they way to handle our family. The accessibility is great, she is getting the best care possible. We love how it is a family own and operated place, it has just been a wonderful experience.

I have found it to be positive. I think that their expertise with memory care is an asset, because that's the only thing they attend to here- there aren't other types of care, like assisted living for instance. So they really understand the challenges. I feel the staff has does the best they can during Covid. Sometimes there's a disconnect in communication, but they're very receptive when I do call and ask questions, and when I'm addressing any concerns. My only feeling is I wish they were more proactive in reaching out to the families to give more feedback on how things are going, just because of the situation right now.

I cannot, in good faith, recommend this facility, though my experience is that most MC facilities are basically the same. It is heartbreaking.
