Our families experience
Value for cost is N/A covered by Medicare. I was extraordinarily happy once we moved my mother away from the Manor. Given the choice, I would never recommend anyone stay at the Manor

Extremely bad service
Extremely bad service I am a new resident here having arrive only one week ago. Consistently I experienced one and a half to two hour delays when calling for my medication and for cleaning myself and my bed when necessary. Nurses come in and try to convince me that they hadn’t heard of my request earlier. This is untrue today I called for pain medicine at 2:30 it was due at 3 AM I received my medicine at 4:05 AM nurse claims she had I just come on duty. Well I started to question when the nurse before her was on duty. Are use the car button I also advised two CNA‘s that I needed my pain medication at 3:00 AM. So the nurse was attempting to exonerate herself and confuse me. I have kept the log the last two days I know of which I speak.

LOOK ELSEWHERE
Unfortunately my mother was at this facility after she injured her ankle and was released from the hospital. On her arrival I had to write a check for $3500.00 since she was not hospitalized a minimum of 3 nights that are required for Medicare to cover the facilities room fee of $250.00 per day ($7500.00 per month). Obviously, I had no other option but to pay the up front fee of $3500.00. I was told this had to be bad on arrival since she was paying out of pocket. A refund is due her but now I'm told it will be months before she will receive her refund as they are billing Medicare for her so called therapy. She was wheelchair bound and didn't need occupational therapy. No one spoke to me even about her therapy. The day after I took her there I found her incoherent, drowsy and unshowered. They hadn't even combed her hair and I arrived mid afternoon! My mother is normally very, very coherent and does not nap during the day so I knew something was given to her without my knowledge or consent. Luckily, I moved her to a beautiful, clean facility back in Tennessee where we live. The cost is under $4800.00 and she has a room three times as big. I would advice you to look elsewhere if you want to put your loved one in a safe, clean environment where the front office staff is respectful, courteous and appreciative of your patronage.

Didn't Notice Congestive Heart Failure
That place is OK, well, it was clean, it looked nice and well kept, HOWEVER; I went on the weekend my mom was bloated up like a balloon. She had gained over twenty pounds in three weeks! She was going into congestive heart failure. They didn't notice at the facility, and the next day she was in the hospital. What is more stupid is that she had come there for rehab after the hospital from congestive heart failure. The nursing staff should recognize this stuff.

Frequently Asked Questions
about Manor At Bluewater Bay

A Place for Mom has scored Manor At Bluewater Bay 2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
