Heartfelt Review of The Camellia

I recently had the pleasure of helping my aunt transition to her new home at The Camellia, a step that she, a fiercely independent lady, initially resisted due to the significant change it represented. From our very first visit, the warmth and welcoming nature of the staff began to ease her concerns, subtly assuring her that this could indeed be a delightful place to live. One of the facility's most accommodating features was their ability to house both my aunt and uncle in the same room. This gesture significantly helped in maintaining a semblance of their normal life, making the transition much smoother for them both. Their daily life continues to thrive at The Camellia. The dining room has become a highlight of their day, not only because of the excellent food but also due to the social interactions they enjoy with fellow residents. An added comfort is knowing that even when one of them feels under the weather, they can still savor a good meal together in the privacy of their own ro

Great Place

My grandfather loves this facility. He has made so many friends and loves the staff. They have made this place a home for him. The place is kept very clean. They also keep the residents very entertained with different activities they do.

Great place to live

In front of mine lived in over a year ago, although always go fairly healthy. He started to need some help with daily activities. Plus, his family moved away and he was spending more and more time by himself. He moved and found companionship, family’s d the that he needed, but still maintains his independence. It was the best to both worlds for him . When you need help, it was available, but he still able to maintain his independence. Plus he loves the food there.

Great Atmosphere

My brother loves it here. He has been at The Camellia for a few months and loves the staff and the residents. There is great interaction between all of the staff with the residents. IF there is a problem the entire staff knows about it and addresses the issues. You don't have to wait days to get answers. The activities director is outstanding. She thinks of the so many fun things the residents to participate in. He is in a good place.

Hidden secret

After visiting the Camellia I am happy to say it is the best fit for my mom. The staff is real, not fake. Very compassionate and caring. I ask a couple of residents and they said the staff takes good care of them.

This is a home, not a facility!

When we first place our mom here we were worried due to some of the negative reviews, however now that we have first hand experience with this place we couldn't be happier! My mom has a great time with the activities and she's made several friends with the residents and staff. Thank you to all the staff that has made our moms move so pleasant!

Unprofessional

The place was a mess. The staff was unprofessional and rude. I wouldn’t have any family member stay at that place. Do yourselves a favor and look elsewhere please.

Very Homey Feel.

I would recommend the Watermark. It is a good size, you could tell that the staff knew all the residents by name. The outdoor space is okay. It is a very clean place. We really liked the community and maybe if we would have moved my mom in sooner it would have been a better fit. I feel we missed the window for my mom.

There are many good things about this facility such as activities and cleanliness. However, I have been disappointed due to smoking being allowed and rules regarding smokers are not enforced. Food is poor quality with lots of sandwiches, canned fruit, pasta and pizza. There is no one at front desk after 5:00 until morning at this facility. Therefore, there is no one to check on loved one or find information. Rooms are equipped with chain pulls which are only effective if you fall beside one. Rooms are only checked every hour or two hours depending on schedule you select. Most falls are reported by residents close by who hear a neighbor calling out. Every residents needs a alert button around neck to call for assistance. Some residents wait a long time for bath assistance, laundry being done, etc. It is unfortunate this nice facility cannot seem to correct these issues.
