Involved staff- highly recommend
Very involved and friendly staff at all levels. They've also been extra supportive of Mom since my Dad just passed. They want residents to be happy and involved. The food is often cold when served and my mom has limited offerings since she's lactose intolerant. Sometimes it's a winner though!

Friendly laid back atmosphere.
The facility is pretty quiet. There are plenty of activities but it is a pretty mellow group of caregivers and residents. They could offer a few more choices on food. If you are having something like hotdogs or sausage as your main. It is not great that your only alternative is hamburger. As far as activities go - More crafts. Maybe try to use other areas of the building when possible. The activity room is not warm and inviting.

a great community
The Commons at Honey Creek has been all around a good experience, our loved one is having a great time there it seems like. We like that the doctor comes to the community and visits the residents so we do not have to worry about taking them to and from places. Everything is up to date, pretty and just really nice. We have already recommended this community to others and we will continue to do so.

Review of Bethesda Gardens
The staff has been extremely helpful to my mother. They have kept me (son) and my brother informed when there have been any issues. they are extremely helpful getting Mom to doctor's appointments when the family has not been available. Attention to each individual in their care is obvious in the manners and caring attitude to the resident.

I visited seven facilities before my husband and I, along with his mother, [name removed], thought this place would be the best fit for her. This has been a wonderful fit. I can't say enough about everyone there. [name removed] has improved a lot since being there. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone.

My Family
I consider Bethesda Gardens my home. It is a nice quiet place away from noise of the traffic and city where you can rest and relax and get a goods nights sleep. The whole community is one floor with no stairs or elevators (I like this) The staff are available and willing to help. The care partners are always asking me how I am doing and are the alert to help out like big sisters. Our maintenance director is like a big brother to me. I can see beautiful scenery of trees from my window. I love seeing the birds and all the deer. There is a nice courtyard to go and enjoy. I like to walk the courtyard daily. The food is good and you always have plenty to eat. The activity director will have games and we do exercise daily. We have puzzles and other things, you will or could do a little bit of everything. You can go to the staff and talk to them about anything and they will listen. We have a beauty salon. We have lots of entertainment and even a chaplain who comes and visits with us as well as conducts church services. I have a family in my home, which is this community!

Best Assisted Living in Terre Haute!
My mom has lived at Bethesda Gardens for 6 months. She tells everyone that we picked the best place. The facility is really beautiful. Very clean and neat. The staff is so friendly and very attentive. Mom raves about the meals. There are so many activities to keep her busy. They recently had fireworks and popsicles out on the front porch. She loves getting her manicures! During the COVID19 the facility was wonderful with the patient safety first! As her only child, I feel so grateful to have found Bethesda. It is a great comfort to know she is really truly cared for by all the staff!

Well-Staffed Community
Our experience at Bethesda Gardens was good overall. My loved one has decided to move back home, but while she was at Bethesda Gardens, I feel the staff did a good job making my loved one and the other residents as comfortable and happy as possible. The community seemed well-staffed, and the cafeteria seemed to offer a lot of options at mealtimes. They also seemed to have a lot of activities available for the residents, and they had a calendar available every month so the residents knew what kinds of things were going on. Overall, we appreciated Bethesda Gardens' services.

Everything is Making Me Happy
Everything is going well and we are happy with Bethesda Gardens. The staff are well trained about the care. I see them being attentive and showing a lot of care and compassion towards my dad and the residents. My dad eats very good and tasty meals daily and we enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving with him in the community. They plan a lot of activities but dad does not do much, however it is always available. I have no issues and complaints about how they keep the community clean.

My mom is in a very nice community and is getting great care. They keep the rooms and the outside very clean for others to enjoy the grounds. She seems happy with the food and the variety. They offer activities for those who want to participate. I would recommend the community for other families for good care for loved ones.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Indiana regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Indiana regulations for Assisted Living.
