Best Kept Secret

I never knew about Vassar Warner until I called APFM. This was all new to me and I had no help and no clue. Then APFM told me about this quaint, very personal home and I called immediately. My mom didn’t want those huge campuses and overly showy places. She wanted an elegant, homey, low key place where everyone would know her, her needs and she’d develop true personal relationships with the staff. Vassar Warner ticked every box for us. This is the warmest, friendliest, uber efficient home I’ve ever seen. They are deeply involved w/ and dedicated to every single resident and their families. They have organized trips, adventures. They have loads of activities. You do as you please. I cannot say enough great things abt VW. I am grateful for them every day! Absolutely consider them for your elders. You’ll be happy you did.

An Excellent Place

My mother is currently a resident at Vassar-Warner Home. I cannot say enough wonderful things! It is a warm and caring environment. The staff is nothing short of amazing. They are so responsive to any of my mother's needs, all she has to do is ask. They are very good at communicating with me, which is very important as I live in a different state. My emails are responded to very quickly and phone calls are returned promptly. I highly recommend Vassar-Warner Home to anyone looking for an assisted living facility.

Vassar Warner Home, A Caring and Safe Place for Our Mother

My mother has been a resident of Vassar Warner for [date removed], and we can't say enough about the staff and the care that she gets. It has been a tough couple of years with COVID, but they have done the utmost to keep the residents safe and families informed and updated on the latest protocol. They've arranged for zoom calls and restricted visits. We were even able to have a "COVID" 95th birthday celebration for her last year. We decorated the balcony, had cake and party favors and even played some of her favorite German songs. Our family members were on the lawn, and we were allowed to go on the balcony with her two at a time. It was a milestone for her, and we were all so happy to be able to share it with her. The staff was very accommodating and we had a wonderful time. I never have any worries about my mother. I know she is in a safe place with loving people.

Great place for Dad

When our dad had to relocate to this area for health reasons we had to quickly find him a home. Vassar Warner Home stood out among the places we looked because it felt more like a “home” than an institution. The rooms all have their own unique character with high ceilings and tall doors giving it an open feel. The views of the Valley are beautiful. The dining room feels like a restaurant rather than a cafeteria. But the most special thing about VWH is the staff. During the worst of the pandemic they did an amazing job keeping the residents safe. Families continue to receive constant information regarding policy changes and rules regarding the pandemic. The office staff is friendly. The kitchen staff is great, catering to Dad’s dietary needs and preferences. The medical staff is on top of Dad’s care and communicates with us immediately when Dad is having any issues. Most importantly Dad regularly says he knows the staff “likes” him, which to me means he feels safe and well cared for.

Very happy to have Mom at Vassar Warner Home!

I am so happy my Mom is a resident at VWH. The staff is always friendly, compassionate and kind. When I was looking for a facility prior to Mom moving into VWH, I did go to other assisted living homes and once I meet the staff and toured VWH I knew this was the place. My Mom is very happy with the staff and says everyone is really pleasantly attentive. She loves the food and enjoys the company at every mealtime. She also enjoys the activities that are offered. Mom is also very pleased with her room! I cannot say how happy I am that my Mom is living at VWH , it is now home for her. I can sleep better knowing my Mom is being looked after with care and kindness and it really gives me a lot of peace!

VW turned my mother around!

I cannot say enough great things about VW! I put my mother there and she has changed for the better. She enjoys the ever present and always helpful staff. She likes the friends she’s making. She loves the choice of activities and the physical home itself. It’s cozy and comfy and provides everything they need and want. It’s not glitzy and a campus. It’s a home- small and intimate. I chose this over the “fancy” places bec they are too big and just too, too. I thank God for VW every day.

My mom's care

This community for my mother's care is very good. I like knowing that she is happy here. The community is always clean and the atmosphere is helpful for her. We like the menu of the meals. The staff helps her participate in the many activities. We would recommend the care and the value of this community for other families.

Excellent, Affordable and Cozy!

VW has been a Godsend! It is affordable and cozy. The care is fantastic. The staff is attentive and always available as is the Director. It's a large Victorian building so it's not a spread out giant campus. Everything is stacked on top of eachother- cafeteria, social and entry hall, resident rooms thereafter. It's perfect. They have field trips, music, movies and take requests. It's not a stuffy, snobby home. It's relaxed and old fashioned which I love for my mom. I'd live there. Every room has a sink and an AC and a tv. The showers are communal for safety reasons and the residents are all with an attendant while they shower. I feel so fortunate to have found this for my mother.

The Best!!

When my grandmother could no longer live on her own, my mother, who worked in health care, had first-hand knowledge that this is the absolute best place around. Vassar-Warner Home has a special atmosphere and offers a level of true care that you don't find anywhere else. Our family was very happy with the staff and all of the arrangements. An A+ place for seniors.

My mother loves it!

My mother has been a resident at Vassar-Warner Home for quite some time now and absolutely loves it there. They have a friendly staff that assists with every day daily activities. Every time I step foot into the home the staff is always assisting and making sure the residents are well taken care of. The home is impeccable on the inside and the outside. My mother has her own private room that we were able to decorate to our liking, and we can visit at anytime and have the freedom to be able to take her out with us if we like. I would recommend this senior residence to anyone who is finding themselves at the point to find a good place for their loved ones to go. It is such a relief to know that a place like this exists!!

They were nice people there.

They were nice people there, the building was 150 years old it has been a nursing home continously from that time. The rooms are miniscule. You shared a room and a bathroom. They are for a higher level of care. Assisted living, there is no doctor on-site, they will despense medicine. The old age homes smell of death and urine, and thats what you smell when you walk in death and urine or Lysol.
