BEST MEMORY CENTER IN AUSTIN

If there were more STARS I would have checked. Autumn Leaves of Austin has been over and above, the best decision I have made in finding the right facility for my Aunt. Having to make a decision quickly and around a subject "Alzheimers" that I was not totally up to date on, was overwhelming, to say the least. The staff could not have been more upfront and professional. The experience we have had over nearly a year has been AWESOME. We had an adjustment period and they worked with us on each and every issue that arose. They LOVE what they do and it shows. I am totally confident in the care, love, safety and overall being that has been provided to my loved one. Kim [Removed] is a saint! She has never disappointed me in her heartfelt attention to detail and to excellence and professional care. I highly recommend this facility.

Welcoming Staff

The staff members at the Autum Leaves of Northwest Austin facility were just very welcoming and it was really refreshing and supportive to my loved one. It was really nice to have that professional approach.

This was my initial visit and tour. We are in the research phase at the moment. Loved the open concept, huge windows, lovely outdoor spaces. Especially like that it is Memory Care only facility and is not a large facility. All staff eats with residents, serves them and are aware of residents' eating habits. I may post more later.

Very inviting atmosphere

I was looking for a place for my mom and was told about Villagio from a friend. I had a wonderful informative tour by the administrator. She was very gracious and understanding. She seemed to really care about her residents and staff. I was invited to stay and eat and lunch. It was delicious! The building was beautiful. Very light and bright. The residents were decorating Easter hats for a Easter bonnet tea they were having later that day. They seemed to really enjoy what they were doing. The pricing was excellent and it was all inclusive. I have looked at several places and know this is the one for my mother.

Could not have picked a better place!

We recently moved our loved one here and could not be happier. The staff is always friendly and very caring for the residents. The facility is very open and bright. The meals are wonderful and they also get a nutritious shake twice a day. Her room so always clean. They also do the laundry both bedding and personal. We definitely feel at ease knowing she is getting excellent care. We could not be happier with the facility!

Pecan Ridge - A Nice Memory Care Unit

It's a very open and airy environment. There's a lot of natural light. The staff seemed to be very attentive. There were a lot of activities for the residents as well. The room size is pretty average, about what we expected.

Home atmosphere memory care

The respect and compassion shown each resident is amazing. Meals are planned to meet the residents nutritional needs. Great care is given to the physical needs of each person. Activities are planned and residents are encouraged to participate to help them interact with others. I am very pleased with Villagio of Mckinney after spending six months in a facility that offered none of the above.

Review for Anointed Senior Living Austin

The community is nice , it is much better than where my wife was before. They recently changed ownership, I guess you know when we first checked in there I would have rated it as a 5 but now it's still nice and I think things will improve. I rate it as a 4 now.

Our Experience

Pecan Ridge Memory Care is a well designed facility. The staff is experienced with memory care residents. They try their best to engage and stimulate the senior residents. The 2 dining rooms are comfortable and the food seems fresh. There is also a smallish bistro room that we used a few times for private dining with our aunt. Her end of the northeastern hallway corner room was well laid out. The staff was nice, though a bit overworked. Door security was good. Admin young and professional. The spacious lobby entrance is homey. The residents really require memory care as their dementia is very significant. Air purifier use should probably be increased. The staff cares about their patients.

Location Was Not Convient

I only really went to take a look at this community knowing that we were going to place my mom in the sister community that they were building which is closer to me. I did get a good idea as to how the community would be setup the room layout etc because we were told that they don't change from property to property everything mirrors each other which I found helpful. From what I saw the place seemed well maintained and clean I really had no complaints it was just the location that was not convenient for the family.

Getting Better Each Day

My mother in law experience here at this community has been a good one so far. It was a ruff adjustment, but she is getting better each day. We are pleased with all they have done for us. Each day is a step in the right direction. They are providing her with good care, and we are pleased overall.

I Went To See This Community

I spent some time looking at this community and I thought this was an older facility. My tour guide did the best they could do and they gave me good information and was very responsive. It seemed as if they would not be able to provide one on one care for my dad. They seemed to have a lot of residents to care for here.

Great place except for the food

My mother lives here and it is very nice in most respects, friendly staff and nice facility but the food is very disappointing. It's too bad that these people can't get consistently good food. Someone needs to address this issue.

Beautiful facility, but the locked doors seem unsafe.

I looked here when I was touring. I liked them, the facility was beautiful. It was recently redone, and looked fantastic. But I wouldn't use them because they have locked rooms. When I asked what they would do if there was a fire, they told me that they would go room to room, and get each resident and put a pillow outside the door to know that they had gotten that one. That did seem very safe to me. They also had recently reopened and didn't have many residents when I toured. I felt there wouldn't be enough social interaction for my loved one. There were only two staff members and a chef when I toured, the chef seemed very knowledgeable. I did notice that after lunch, the two staff members helped the residents to the restrooms and then back to their rooms, and then came back out and sat down to watch t.v. I thought that they could have done something with the residents, initiate an activity or something. We didn't choose them.

Would've Been a 4.5 But As Of Now 2.5

The common areas are kept clean. It would be nice to see my loved one's cleaned more thoroughly. The dining room and meals are very nice. The community keeps the residents very well entertained. There was an incident where the community dispensed the wrong medication to my loved one, and this caused a major health concern for my loved one. The community is trying to retrain staff and find another full time med tech to to dispense the proper medications to the residents. I've noticed that on the weekends there is less staffing and less oversight of the staff than during the week. I would recommend you visit your loved one on the weekends more often than during the weekdays.
