Ascension Living

We are very happy with them. It's very clean, and the staff is extremely friendly. They are also a lot more reasonable in price than a lot of these places. The activities are just incredible, a tremendous variety, from in house things, games and movies, to outings. They are very responsive. He loves the food. So far he's been very happy with it. We don't have any complaints or concerns at all.

Toured Tuesday, March 25. Nice, but probably just out of our price range. It would be about $2100 for the apt, then add level of care. Probably would need level 2, which is $800 more. Wheelchairs no problem. First 2 months' rent free right now. No skilled care at this building. Had a chance to talk with the nurse on staff. She was great.

There were similar services as the place we chose for my mother. It was a smaller community too. Everybody knows everybody. It's a warm atmosphere becauase it's not 25 floor and hundreds of people. I liked the size.

Having had a horrible experience with another portion of Sherbrooke Village, I told them I was going to move my loved one someplace else and that's when they moved him to the lodge. The social worker asked if we would be happy there and i told them i just wanted my loved one to be taken care of; when we got to the lodge it was as different as black and white. The service and care was much better, the people were better; i think they brought the food over from the other place but they did tell me i could bring food for him if i thought he would enjoy it. They did take him in his wheelchair to the dining room and he knew some faces and sait with the same people which i thought was nice. it was a much better place for him than the other part of sherbrooke.

Super nice facilities! I did not see a lot of interreaction, socializing among staff or residents. Activities seemed somewhat limited.

Nice! Did a tour/lunch but I am interested in apts in the lodge.

I toured Via Christi Village Georgetown while looking for a place for my grandmother. I did like the community. The rooms were definitely bigger and better than rooms in other communities I had seen. The real estate was definitely better, but it seemed to lack the bright comfort that I was looking for, and I also felt the community was very big. I worried it would be confusing for my grandmother, so we did not move here.

I thought this looked like a nice community when I toured it. The person that took us on tour was friendly and helpful. This community just did not seem like one I might be interested in.

The staff that i met was nice and attentive. The tour guide was knowledgeable and explained the activities and amenities the community offers. It was clean and well organized. This place is a pet friendly community. They also offer healthy meal plans for the residents.

Since my mother-in-law lives in independent living, staff isn't seen often. She does see them at meals. Says they are very nice. There is a cleaning woman that comes, and she too is a wonderful lady. Does a good job.

I toured Ascension Living Fox Knoll Village during my search for Independent Living. This facility and my tour were okay. However, I decided to continue on with my search.

This is a lovely community however, it is not well maintained. They have activities like walks and walks a long the river but with covid things are currently limited. They had things scheduled like dinners out and plays but they had to be canceled due to covid.

Not suitable for my needs and my loved ones needs. This was not an independent living facility and they offered more services than we really needed for our loved one at the time. This was not as new of a building either as the facility that we choose for our loved one. The staff were nice it just wasn't the fit for us.

It is a fancy looking place but not as nice on the inside. I would not move her again given the choice. People are moving out. The food has gone down since they changed companies in March. You do not get many choices. I like Diet Sprite and they never have it in stock. We used to have choices. They run out of a lot of things. They took away all the snacks they use to offer. They have cut a lot of services. A lot of the residents complain that they are treated like children. They come into your apartments without knocks. Not all the staff are wearing masks.

This is a good retirement community. The food and food service could get better and I hope it does.

Mom did not like this choice, mainly because it was older facility and no cover over the entrance

Faith based community (primarily Catholic). Nice grounds. Assisted Living is acceptable. Less expensive than the newer (for profit) places we visited. A downside is having to travel through the (larger) Skilled nursing units to get to the Chapel as that can be somewhat depressing. Nice to have skilled nursing and Rehab both on same site with Assisted. Our dad was in Rehab here so had tasted the food (made in same kitchen and delivered to Rehab - often cold by then), so he was not interested.

Nice visit however my mother would prefer more independent living options/amenities and updated 2bed/2bath, underground parking.

I do not like that they have set times for meals. The food is terrible. They do not offer healthy meals and it is not prepared well. Most of the residents have not been friendly so it has been difficult making friends. I have had a few billing issues with this community. The community is clean and the housekeeper that cleans my apartment is wonderful. They do not offer a lot of active things to do. The director is wonderful and very helpful.

My mother and I had a good tour of this community. Everyone was very kind, and friendly. The community looked nice, and well maintained. Our questions were answered, and they were informative. It was a pleasant experience. The choice was up to my mother, and she decided to go with another community.
