Safety, cleanliness, attentive staff, homemade meals, and resident happiness were used to evaluate many assisted living facilities and Assisted Living of Potomac ranked the highest for us. We could not be happier with our decision. The owner is a nurse who is extremely competent in understanding the needs of every resident. She ensures staff are trained and implements procedures to make sure every resident stays healthy and safe. She does not hesitate to call me when there is an issue. I am so comfortable with her judgement that I no longer worry daily about Mom’s health and care. Mom loves the staff who are very caring and make her feel loved and special. She always looks forward to the meals. When I make an unannounced visit, Mom is always dressed and clean. Assisted Living of Potomac far exceeds my expectations.

My brother suffered a stroke. Due to unforeseen circumstances, he was relocated from MA to MD for rehab and care. Once his stay at a SNF and after a frantic search, I moved him to Assisted Living of Potomac. ALofP provided a safe and clean environment for him. The friendly caretakers are vigilant to changes in his daily well being. ALofP responds to concerns and remedial action is taken the same day. I am kept informed. The home cooked meals are filling and nutritious. The care AlofP provides is more than I could ever envision especially after my visits to many other places and reading reviews.

This place has been exactly what we had hoped for - at least so far. Dementia has claimed my sweet, shy, considerate mother and replaced her with an unhappy and often unpleasant old woman who tries one's patience. Rajinda has been a model of patience and kindness in helping my mother adjust to new surroundings. She has come from an assisted living institution which could no longer deal with her behavioral problems. Yet Raj is optimistic despite a rocky start. She keeps us (the family) informed and is always available to speak to us or to mom's doctors. We are all hopeful that mom will adjust under the kindly and capable guidance here. We know she loves the food!

After spending several years moving from one to another of the large "corporate" care facilities in the area, my mother with her advancing dementia, COPD, and restricted mobility, finally settled in perfectly at Assisted Living of Potomac, where she remained until her recent passing. The facility is a smaller group home with usually 6 or 8 total residents, and is set up so that the staff could provide my mother with the continuous supervision and personal care and attention she needed. She went from being alone too much, to never being along during her waking hours. And she benefited greatly from the truly personal and caring relationships with the staff and other residents. She received very high quality health care supervision, and she really enjoyed the food, in the very home-like environment provided at this facility. They may not offer the wide range of activities and outings that can be found at the larger facilities, the level of personal care and attention received really best met my mother's needs. We will always be grateful that we found Assisted Living of Potomac. It provided my mother with quality care, and us with peace of mind, during this very difficult stage of life that most of us will face. Thank you!

Mom was only at this care home for a short time. I do not think they offered enough activities for my mom. This home has 3 floors and a chair lift. Unfortunately , mom was not able to use this. This was a nice care home it was just not a good fit for us. You don't really know about a place until you get in there. We did find a place where she has more interaction with other residents.

I think they're doing a great job at Assisted Living of Potomac. It is a smaller community, there are only about 8 residents total, and my loved one is getting a lot of one on one care here. It is not as noisy or busy as some of the larger communities we looked at, and seems to be a great fit for my loved one. The staff here are all very friendly, and the facility itself is well kept and clean!

I removed my mother from this home as the care was totally inadequate. My mother fell several times and was sent to the ER by herself when I was out of town. There was not a reasonable ratio of aides to residents. The owner will not return the money she owes me. I plan to take her to court.
