SoCo Village in Austin, TX

I first heard good feedback about SoCo Village from emergency first responders and people who work for the home health company that was caring for my parent in their home (non-biased opinions). When the time came that it was no longer safe for my parent to remain in their home, and this facility showed up as a recommendation from APFM, I did not hesitate to check it out. The staff at SoCo Village assisted me every step of the way to insure as smooth a transition as possible. On the day I was moving in and setting up the apartment, ALL of the staff was aware that they would have a new resident soon. When my parent was finally transferred to the facility, all of their care staff took the time to come by, introduce themselves, and get all of the information regarding the care that would be needed. The food is great. The care staff is awesome. The facility is clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. After 3 months, I have no regrets about the choice I made on behalf of my parent.

We had a very good experience. Value for cost is difficult because it is expensive but all the facilities we visited were about the same. I gave Philomena 5s, however, we started to see the evidence of standards lowering due to the director bringing in employees from her prior facility(ies). The individual that we thought was one of the best employees and who treated my mother in an exemplary way was fired after we left. This individual had a feeling he was going to be fired.

It took my sister many months to adjust to the change but for all of us who care for and about her we see so many positive changes in her health both physical and mental. The staff is wonderful.

My loved one was previously a resident at The Philomena and the experience was mostly great. Aside from the food, which was okay. The value for cost was good, though I don't really know what is out there to compare it to. Overall, I would recommend The Philomena to others.

The staff is very thoughtful and caring. The main thing that stuck out about SoCo Village over others was the bright and cheery atmosphere. We have been very happy with their service and would recommend the facility to others looking.

Staff are super friendly, they care about the residents. They call regularly with updates and questions. They make a real effort to get to know each residents' likes and dislikes. My mom is a picky eater. The staff regularly make her cheeseburgers when she doesn't like the offered dish. It is always clean and well staffed. Residents are well cared for and always dressed and clean. Rooms are clean and each is decorated individually. You can call or text the management at any time with questions or issues.

We, our sister's family, have all been impressed with the care and kindness shown her by all the staff. We are there often and have enjoyed the special events which have included food and music. The facility is beautiful. The management staff couldn't be nicer to guests and residents.

Our experience with Philomena is very good. They are always working hard to meet the needs of our loved ones. There is very good communication with staff. They offer; Meals, house keeping. Med management, art, exercise, social events. On-site medical support. On-site beauty salon. Rides to off-site appointments and local shopping, and etc. I would recommend to others, and I already have.
