So many Questions!??!!

How do they allow facilities, such as this, to fly under the radar and not be exposed?! How do you get away with serving that cold, tasteless foods to your patients?! Why don’t you have alarms turned on the beds for those who are a trip/fall hazard?! What is the problem with your telephones?! Try to ask for an “in charge” nurse and you get no one to assist, or they hang up on your call !! Do you understand Compassionate Care? Have you no shame?

Poor

The only reason I’m giving one star, is because the facility is beautiful. Otherwise zero stars. They were short staffed all the time…we were told there would be 2 caregivers at all times in Memory Care to take care of 11 patients but there was only one. The activity calendar looked wonderful but activities never took place. Instead, the residents either stayed in their rooms all day or were plopped in front of a tv. The entire A wing in Memory Care always smelled of urine. The food was delivered from the main building on a cart and by the time it was given to the patients it was cold. I discussed my concerns with administration but nothing ever changed. My loved one was moved from the facility within a month of arriving due to poor care. Memory Care is supposed to offer activities to stimulate the mind and allow the residents to live with care and dignity as much as their condition allows. This does not happen at the Luxe.

You will want to avoid if your loved one needs any sort of assistance

Would definitely not recommend. Patients push the call button and it goes unanswered for 30+ minutes - or just dismissed. Do not expect your loved one to be checked on during the evening, staff is scarce - they come in 1 hour prior to end of shift to do a quick clean up and pretend they were there longer. Our family had someone stay with our mom 24/7, we planned it at first to give her support and then realized staff is minimal and those there act as if it is the last place they want to be. You hear call button alarms going off, patients yelling for staff, only to be ignored. After several requests, would not adhere to diabetic and heart condition diet. Had to bring our own TP and soap as the room ran out and after 3 requests they still ignored. Also, they will take you to a staged room during the tour, the room they put you in looks nothing like it.

Unapproachable and Lazy

This place should not get any stars! My mom was transported there from Wellington Regional after a hip/femur surgery, she was transferred to get post op rehabilitation and physical therapy on a Friday afternoon and we got her out by Sunday morning! This place is not a rehab, it’s a nursing home where they let people die! The first thing they asked her was “Are you DNR?” Like wtf?!… she sat in a wheelchair for hours before anyone spoke to her. When visiting, the nurse station is unapproachable, no one is forthcoming with information on the facility (wifi, amenities). The CNA, that was in her room laughed when I asked when she is getting her needed medication and very demeaning towards us. The food is probably worse than prison food. They never checked in on her and the 2 nights she was there, she slept in pee and her sheets weren’t changed for hours. The staff is loud in the hallways and not attentive during night hours . The managers made empty promises, so we took her out on Sunday…

Don’t do it

It is so obvious that these recent good reviews all done the same day were written by their staff. Don’t let how pretty this place looks fool you. My mom was there for 34 days and It was a nightmare. If your are going to have a family member be prepared to be there all day. They did everything from giving her the medicine at whatever time someone remembered, and attempting to give her someone else’s medicine. The call lights are ignored everyone walks past them and pretends they don’t see it. There is no consistency in the nurses. The one time I left her alone for 2 hours she fell off her wheelchair. On the weekends is a party zone with all the CNAs hanging out. When you ask them they say they have too many patients and will get to your family member when they can. I heard patients calling for help while they pretended they didn’t hear it. I wouldn’t even trust these people with a pet lizard

very very bad

My wife was at The Luxe at Wellington Rehabilitation Center [dates removed]. The service here was unbelievably bad. They never got her medications straight , 1 day she would get her pain meds every 6 hours as the hospital prescribed, then the next day she was told only every 12 hours. 1 day she would get 2 medications for anxiety then only 1 medication the next day. When she left the hospital, they had her sitting up in a chair 1 or 2 times a day and walking with and without a walker to the restroom or as for as the door to her room. This was never done during her stay at rehab. At the hospital she was using an Airlife thing to strength her lungs every 2 hours at Luxe no one had her use it. When she pushed the nurse call button sometimes it would take up to an hour and a half before anyone would show up. Her care was so bad that a family member stayed with her 24 hours a day from the [date removed] until she was discharged. On the [date removed] they told us that she would be discharged o

Understaffed nursing

For anyone who is elderly or has a chronic health condition that requires medication, I would urge you to find another facility. While the building itself is nice, the weak point of this facility is the nursing. My mother spent four days at this facility in October 2022. During this time, her morning heart medications were not given to her on a regular basis. Her ‘morning’ meds would be given to her at 8 am one day, and the next day would not be given to her until 1:30 PM! This caused wild and dangerous swings In her pulse rate and blood pressure, resulting in the family calling 911 while the nurse called her supervisor to see if she was ‘allowed’ to call emergency services! The nursing department is clearly overwhelmed, undertrained, and understaffed. If you are in your 30’s and in good health other than an injury, this facility would be fine. If you require medication every day to keep your body in working order please look elsewhere!

Abysmal

Outside of the therapists, the level of care and attention my mother has received is non existent. Aides who have bad attitudes, never come back when asked for something, wrong medicine doses, no meals being brought to her, people yelling “ get me a nurse “ all day long. Moms in pain and waiting an hour for Tylenol! This place is atrocious.......shame

Wanna sit in your own urine?

Sad the rating is a zero but I'm forced to pick 1 star. Should be negative 100. This place by far is the worst place. They don't respond to calls for help nor take you to eat. They let you lay in your own urine. The response is we're to busy. But not to busy to lie. The dining room is another joke. Sad this is now they treat seniors. The administrative staff is inept and I caring and this makes me sick. The staff needs to be replaced and fired. Thank goodness I was there to help my mother otherwise heaven knows what would of happened to her. Who cares how clean when they let your mother sit in urine because she locked in a bed and there to busy. Pathetic response to basic human needs. Our seniors need and deserve better. The best thing that should happen is to close this building and they should be sited as no one does what they are suppose to do. Another example of a CEO taking money and not providing proper service for the people they are suppose to be caring for. The laws of the human decency are ignored here. If your not there to check on your loved one human decency is ignored.

worst stay ever

Sad to say, Had to leave earlier then time needed for recovery. Food was excellent and PT was great but the medical side and the aides where the worsted. The place looks beautiful but the care from the aides where the worst I ever experiened. These girls are not doing the patient a favor to take care of them. When someone needs care it shouldn't be that the patient is left unattended, and when you ring the bell for help hopefully someone can come within an hour!!!!! One night I waited almost 2 hours for assitance. I asked for a discharge in less then 2 wks for a needed stay of 6 weeks. But it was so terrible I just wanted to go home

You wont get rest here!!

I am in this facility now for recoup from bilateral knee surgery, In the 2 days that i have been here i can tell you that most of the time if u call the front desk it will ring and ring..sometimes u will get help sometimes not , sometimes Anything u ask the staff for u may get it by ur 3rd request..dont know if they just dont care or forget. Its up to u to remember what ur supposed to do medicines etc. Sometimes they remember sometimes they dont. The staff seems nice enough but when ur in a place like this and u need help u shouldnt have to constantly be reminding staff over and over...its their job to know. You will not get any rest here.

Awful facility with the worst doctor care I have ever seen, I would not send my worst enemy here. On the surface NuVista is a nice, newish, clean facility, the nurses are fantastic but the are in a 15/1 patient to nurse ratio, the argumentative "doctors" at NuVista are nothing more than pill pushers [removed] If you care at all about your family do NOT send them to NuVista
