Its a difficult decision when you have to place a loved one into any sort of care facility. You hear so much about residents falling down,,medications accidently being admimistered, or just plain poor care being given. Its a nightmare for families. . For years my own twin sister was bounced around, received poor care, and endured some terrrible incidents. It tore me up. Its exhausting to be in constant state of worry. . So when we finally discovered Rahkma Joy house for her, the incredible burdon of constant worry was lifted for the first time for me in years. . The sense of being at “home”, in a real family home, is immediate. Whew! No door lined long halls, and NO feeling of doom and despair...nothing but a beautiful secure sense of comfort and “Joy”. . And the most important aspect of this home is the hard work , dedication and authentic caring staff members . This is the first time in years I didn't leave a visit with my “other self “, crying and clutching a Kleenex

I know what a difference you made for [name removed], even when he wasn't capable of showing it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring for him and showing him such compassion.

My family member had been at Rakhma Grace Home for awhile and I wouldn’t want them anywhere else. Great family environment, friendly and fun staff, beautiful house with great yard and located in a very safe area.

It's a beautiful campus with several houses grouped so it feels like a neighborhood. We picked this community, because it was quick availability. Warm and welcoming plus efficient quick transition. I highly recommend it.

My late husband received great care here. I felt he was respected, well looked after, and the staff was very kind. I was also impressed by the outings they went on to museums, plays, apple orchards, and even fishing boat excursions. This group home environment was very good for my spouse. It felt like a happy family environment with the residents and staff.

My late husband received very good care here. The group home environment made the transition easier. Though his dementia was quite severe and his speech very limited, I believe he particularly enjoyed the deck and backyard, outings they took, the food, and a caring staff.

I would tell others that the community sometimes has communication issues with the family and staff. Overall the administrative staff have been receptive to my feedback and responsive. All of this might be due to the pandemic.

Cannot admin insulin shots. OK as long as he can do his own, with supervison. - Only bed available is on second floor, in St Paul and Mtka. - Not a good fit if the dementia ever changes to where he can't administer his own insulin.

Heard good things about them from friend and relative of client - NO ELEVATOR - won't work. Renovations may be finished by year end?????

I don’t know how this place stay open the staff is horrible always on their phones ignoring the clients Couple clients that have dementia look like bums not shaved smell like urine and stool Upstairs bathrooms never clean Food is terrible Home lead thats what they call her sits at dinning room table with laptop shopping when the clients are not getting the care they need pls don’t leave your family members here

They misrepresented themselves. The size of the room was about 1/3 of what they promised. They were terrible with communication and follow up. For charging over $[removed] a month, the food was terrible. Mostly salty and canned soups and vegetables. Overall a terrible place to leave a loved one. My sister is now in a wonderful place with great support and good homemade food, at half the price.

I am a nurse, and I was stunned by the mistreatment that I discovered when I paid surprise visits to the facility. My mother was a Medicare/ Medicaid patient having exhausted all funds over a long course of illness. I would pop in and find my mom confined in a geriatric chair in a common area at 9:30 p.m., long past her bedtime. There were other residents poking her in the eyes and pulling her hair- no staff in the room supervising. I found my mother several times in garments soiled in feces and disposable pads with feces left on the floor of the room. They forcibly restrained her and drew her blood without the consent of the medical power of attorney. When we filed complaints with the State, the director and house manager became hostile, making my mother's final days of life a nightmare. I have photos of the conditions at that place that I am happy to share.
