All the staff is great here, especially mgmt. Everybody is wonderful. I lived here a year and a half and it's creat. I'm very pleased.
Harbor Terrace was voted BEST RETIREMENT AND ASSISTED LIVING in the entire SOUTH BAY by Daily Breeze readers 2012-2013. We are family owned and our management staff has over 36 years experience. We are walking distance from unique shops, delicious restaurants, theaters, banks and open air...

Loved the one on one help I received from our assigned helper who only wanted the best "fit" for our 93 year old aunt and for our needs too. We were given numerous places to visit if need be; we stated what we hoped to get and were given a variety of places to comb through. We love the place we selected. Our aunt was afraid of change; Had we known she would adjust this easily we would have moved her sooner. Could not believe that she might "bloom" somewhere else - but proof is in the pudding! We are grateful to both A Place For Mom and for Harbor Terrace. We love that the turn over for staff and residents is so low!!

So far I think they're doing a great job here! It's a very clean facility, the staff are great, and the care and activities are what we were hoping they'd be. We've also been very impressed with the food, they've got a very nice kitchen. My loved one has really been enjoying the food here, and she can be somewhat of a critic!

I would say, " It's great for assisted living". I would not recommend it for memory care.

NOTE: Some ā4sā because it is IMPOSSIBLE (& unhealthy) to be perfect. :^) Mom chose this place herself after many years of listening to friends who have lived there in the past. I visit most days interacting with staff to provide assistance, too, because my Mom appreciates & needs family visits and help. The people who work at and manage HT try their utmost to create community & to be friendly, helpful, respectful and responsive to all their residents & their visitors, treating them each as unique individuals. The food is a good mix of hearty and healthful. The activities are imaginative and fun. This place is especially good at gradual transitions from independent to assistive living. They are pet-friendly and that is SO important to Mom, but flea transmission among pets is something for which they need to be constantly vigilant. I can almost always find a parking space in their parking garage, but there is only one, fairly cramped underground parking garage.

This facility is very clean and well-maintained. The elevator seems to break down fairly often, which strands many of the upstairs residents. Nearly everyone who works there is amazing, friendly, helpful. However, the previous administrator arranged for my mom to move into Memory Care and for my dad to move into a single room. She broke down all the costs, and because they had a special for Memory Care (trying to get filled back up after COVID), the cost of both ended up being $500 less than when they were sharing a room in the more independent section. She said the cost of both rooms would not go up for a year, and at that time, both would only go up the regular 10% for cost of living. She did not give this to us in writing or have us sign anything. Our mistake. As soon as that administrator left, the interim administrator notified us about an error in what we were paying and that both rooms' costs would increase in a couple of months! The increase would be $700/month! I tried to fight it, but since we didn't have anything in writing, we had no leg to stand on. The increase became effective yesterday. Both of my parents are happy with their level of care, although I don't know what's happened to many of my mom's clothing. With the exception of the night desk clerk, everyone is extremely friendly. The new administrator is friendly (she was the marketing director), but seems disingenuous. My dad raves about the food, but neither of them eat much. I've eaten there quite often and most of the food is very good. The activities are not varied, but they've had trouble with staff turnover. In Memory Care, the activities are more limited due to the residents' abilities. We are hoping this will improve as covid lessens. Since my parents are still paying less than they were paying up in Washington State, and they're both happy, I believe they're getting good Value for their money, even with the recent increase.

Wonderful intake person as well. It is not [name removed] anymore, but [name removed]. She is nice. Loved their menu choices since dad has some dietary restrictions. Not a fan of the decor. They are getting remodeled, however. Hated the carpet in the room. Ugly green.Everything else was wonderufl.

This was a small but nice family owned facility. I had a great tour. I would be glad to refer others to this facility. Warm and friendly community. Rooms were a little small because it was an older but well maintained place.

I have no complaints about how things are going for my father since he made the move into this community. He is making improvements every day and has become less resistant about being there. The staff have been patient with his needs and I am comfortable with the care they have been providing him. To my knowledge everything has been going well for him and has been the perfect fit. Overall I am pleased and would recommend it to anyone.

We finally chose this place after looking at 4. There are more people around to interact with. The staff is upbeat and friendly, and they were amenable to everything we wanted.

Very nice facility. Friendly and professional staff. It seemed to be a little cheaper than other facilities. Mom has decided to have in-home care.

I really like this community and all that it has to offer. My loved one really enjoys the activities that the community offers. The meals aren't great, but they are decent enough. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Mom was not able to move into this community as they do not accept residents that are already in wheelchairs. They are a little more expensive than the community she is at now. They charge for any extra services that may be needed. It seemed to have an active environment. I received a good report from a family that has a loved one that currently lives there. The staff were nice and the community looked clean.

They've done a great job here with my loved one so far! The care staff have been great with him, they are friendly, caring, and professional. The facility itself is nice looking, and always well kept and clean. They haven't been perfect, sometimes a few details will slip through the cracks when it comes to care, but on the whole they've been great.

My husband didn't like the area. My aunt likes walking around and he thought the area is not safe to go out and take a walk even in the day time. Also, the community is kind of cramped with people. I mean, the place is nice, it's just that it's very limited. There is not as much space to walk around especially outside. Plus they didn't have a one bedroom room for her at the time.

Thay saved my life. I was very independent but disabled when I moved. Did my own meds management and drove Moving stressed me I got very sick and stopped eating and taking meds. Front office staff was very concerned and called me every day and sent food to my room. Then they called 911 to take me to the emergency room. I had total renal failure. I am now on dyalysis and feeling much better. Now have an RN case manager recomended by Harbor Terrace to coordinate dyalysis and doctor visits and keep my family informed and I have a full time care giver to take me to dyalysis. Now starting to work again and much stronger.

This community does not have any medical personnel on staff. The staff that is there is friendly and do what they can to care for the residents. There is a secure memory care unit. The food is fair, however the food in the assisted living area is nicer. There does not seem to be a lot of activities. This community is kept clean.
