Compassionate care in a lovely setting

Extremely warm and caring staff who were very compassionate with a complex resident under hospice care. There wasn't anything that could've been improved upon. They provided excellent support during the last week of [name removed] life.

A Safe and Caring Place"

We LOVED that place. As far as memory care goes, it was one of the best tenured staff, with the most square footage, engagement and Well thought out floor plans that were cheerful. Now, it was a year ago in June that dad passed, and he was only there for 4 days before passing; but our experience was very positive. The only thing I would say is that it is CRAZY expensive for its age. But its location was great.

The place is well appointed and comfortable. It has nice common areas. The food is good and there's some variety you can choose from.

A great place for Mom and Dad.

I would definitely recommend them to someone else. Everyone is very attentive to everyone's needs. The staff is what made me choose them for my loved one.

Review for Brighton Gardens of Raleigh

There have been ongoing concerns with how meals are handled. Often left waiting to be served, sometimes not receiving food until the dining room is nearly closed and cleanup has already started. At that point, staff usually return to the kitchen and bring out whatever is still available. Attempts have been made to address this, but it's been difficult to reach anyone directly. After submitting a review a few weeks ago, there was a call from a new director who mentioned efforts were underway to improve the situation. Unfortunately, not much has changed. Meal service remains the primary issue. There's hesitation to speak up directly, but the frustration is shared regularly

Do not recommend.

My major take home point is that the staff was very hit or miss as far as they're friendliness and compassion when taking care of my dad. Some of them were absolutely top-notch and some of them were not practicing their craft with the but most of kindness and compassion let's just say that.

My husband was well tended to!

Hated that my husband's health had deteriorated to the point I could no longer keep him at home. Brighton Gardens, from the front desk, to the hands-on staff workers, were wonderful. Everyone was caring, kind & considerate. I was able to kiss my husband "good evening" knowing he was in very capable & excellent care. Sadly, he is gone, but I believe Brighton Gardens did well by him. ??

Zero notice

We enjoyed the facility at first, but with only 2 hours notice we were told that my mother had to move to memory care (which was a large difference in price). They told me that because she was exit seeking she had to move immediately, that morning, while she was at a doctor's appointment. I let them know they did not notify me before this would/could be imminent, but of course had no proof this had not been discussed. They moved her to a tiny, smelly, dark room with a hole in the wall in memory care and it was such a change from the assisted living that we had to take most of her furniture back to our house. She thought she was in jail while we searched for a memory care room elsewhere - closer and less expensive. To make matters worse, we were told all of her items would be moved by the afternoon, and when I got there after 3pm she was standing in the lobby having urinated on herself and only the bed and dresser were moved. I had to move everything else MYSELF (5 feet tall female) as the workers stood around and watched me. When we found a place the next week, they charged us for not having a two week notice even though we received no notice ourselves. Memory care was gross, assisted living was nice. The staff lost friendliness as the staff overturned Quality of care was poor. I witnessed one aide in memory care putting a resident in a chair with a table in front of her so she couldn't move. I tried to move the table and she told me the resident had been bad, not to move it. Administrative staff - not helpful at all. Food was good - dining room was nice Activities - good activities for assisted living. Value for the money - great for assisted living (if you can last there before they throw you in memory care), horrible value for memory care - dark, small, smelly rooms that are not maintained. They are unsympathetic and unfair in their policies (see above). I later found out that they WERE supposed to move 100% of the furniture and furnishings when the resident moves in-house.

Yes I would recommend. We were seeking memory care which limits the options and the location was ideal for our needs.

Do not send your loved one here

Please do not let your loved one go to Brighton. They will not get the care and services that they need and deserve AND that you’re paying for. The administration is so detached from the reality of just how overworked and (a word that admin and corporate has charts and graphs to tell me it just isn’t true!) UNDERSTAFFED. We moved my mom and dad into Brighton 12yrs ago. It was a lovely community then. We saw admin interacting all the time in the community. The dining room was run with a staff that was able to serve everyone with respect and dignity. My father passed 7yrs ago and my mom stayed on because it was home. In the last few years, that home has been ruined. I’m really not sure how corporate can hear the number of complaints that I KNOW they have received (not just from me) and still not change a thing. Please don’t put your loved one here. The facility is in poor condition (the carpet, which is everywhere) has never been replaced in the 12 years that we’ve been here. The large f

Overall decline with management changes & constant shortage of personnel

The facility was much better when I originally brought my mother here. There has been several management changes as well as a corp change. It has definitely declined with these changes.

My mom has been treated extremely well and she has been happy since her first day. They make her feel safe and comfortable, and address any needs quickly. I can't say enough about the staff, they go above and beyond to make my mom feel like she is with family.

Staff is great except for the accounting office. You have to repeatedly email or call to get an answer from them. We picked this community because of the price, location, and size of the rooms.

Brighton Gardens of Raleigh Senior Care

The staff at Brighton Gardens are remarkably caring both in assisted living and in memory care. Staffing is much more stable than at any other senior residence in the area based on the other facilities I’m familiar with. I have recommended BG to many people.

Can't thank Brighton Gardens enough!

The staff have been so welcoming to my father. He was not happy about needing the extra help and having to leave home but the staff went above and beyond to make him comfortable and help him get acclimated to the community. He is now thriving, has made friends and his health has improved since moving in.

Needs improvement

My loved one is currently a resident at Brighton Gardens of Raleigh and everything started off okay for her at this facility, but things are not so great now. The new Director is not great and does not appear to be very friendly. However, most of the other staff are friendly. My loved one hasn't needed much as far as care services, so I cannot rate that one. The food is mediocre. As for the activities, sometimes there is no one to run them and also the participation is low. The value for cost is okay, my loved one has a large apartment. My loved one thought that she would like this larger place and loved the large apartment, but I think the medium sized places that we saw might have been a better fit, food and care wise. I'm not sure that I would recommend Brighton Gardens of Raleigh to someone right now.
