My problem is lack of information. The first we heard about the potential sale of Lakeview was in mid-June when I visited & met with the Executive Director to seek information about how my loved one was doing there. It is going well from Lakeview's point of view). That's when I was told that Brookdale had put Lakeview up for sale at the end of 2024. The ED was candid about his hope that someone will buy it & continue to operate it as it is. He said no substantial offer is in the works, and said they would help find my loved one a new place if needed. A lot of other residents knew about it in March, and a number have already gone elsewhere. So Lakeview has not been proactive in helping us to date. I was promised an update if anything was on the horizon.

Would highly recommend Brookdale! We were impressed with the professional, warm welcome upon our arrival at Brookdale. It was a genuine reception that felt above commercial standards and more like a homecoming. It stood out. The condition of the building is well maintained and does not feel like anything is being neglected. In fact, there is always someone cleaning or providing one service or another. The diversity of activities is broad enough to look forward to having interesting choices that are stimulating and fun. Concerts, murder mysteries, jewelry making, museum outings and more are better than the average programs found in other institutions. The cost is reasonable, considering location and services provided. In a perfect world, government subsidies would help to make it affordable for people on a more limited budget. Due to my medical condition we had meals delivered to our apartment. The menu offered a nice variety, addressing many dietary limitations. We especially appreciated the café for lunch. [name removed], at the front desk, makes everyone feel at ease and is so helpful. We always looked forward to seeing him. I do have to say that the person who was working the front desk when I was delivered by hospital transport, was the only blip on the screen. Did not make an effort to find out where I was to be taken. Had to call my family who had arrived before me. Overall, it was a positive experience and I am so very grateful to the entire staff.

[name removed] is receiving good care. There were some transition problems, with incomplete information about utilities (e.g. WiFi & TV). Now that those have been resolved, I am grateful to have my brother there. Very helpful staff.

Employees of Lake View are great - friendly, hard workers. Nice clean apartment with a view of Lake Michigan. Chef prepared meals with a variety of choices. Met some nice people. There is a garage for my car ($[removed] per month fee). Weekly local and downtown transportation included with no additional fee. A Number of field trips offered each month. Many daily activities if you're interested. Only negative is that sometimes you have to wait a while for an elevator.

I have only been here for a few months, but I like it here very much. The food is very good. I go to so many activities, always something to do here. Dining experience is so great, restaurant style. don’t have to get up.

My loved one was previously a resident at Brookdale Lake View and the overall experience was great for her at this facility. The friendliness and the staff are great. The cleanliness, care services and value for cost are good. The meals and the activities are both great, also! Based on our experience, I would recommend Brookdale Lake View to others.

I have lived at Brookdale Lakeview for just over a year and my experience has been largely positive. The residents and staff have been friendly and helpful. The activities have been interesting, entertaining, and helpful. I have benefited from the exercise l participated in. The information seminars have have been educational. The meals have been for the most part very good. I have gained weight, mainly because l eat too much ice cream. In some cases the service has been in need of improvement, especially at breakfast.

Sent here [date removed] by family and friends and my doctor prior to 87th birthday and after an illness that left me as diagnosed severely malnourished and an auto accident that I barely escaped injury. In essence was lucky to be alive. The positive vibe of this new home brought me out of depression. Started to eat better with new friends who invited me to sit with them and began to gain back the weight I had lost. I found the nice long halls great for indoor walking and worked to get my step count back to 5000 a day preparing for outdoors in warmer weather.

The staff are all very kind and helpful. Anytime I have a problem or question they will do everything they can to assist me. I enjoy the activities and the variety of outings we go on each month. The dining services offer a variety of food options and the food is always very good.

Everyone is super friendly. I enjoy the activities like bingo and going on outings. The food is very good, there is a lot of variety. I can let the chefs know certain foods I would enjoy like Cuban sandwiches or shish-kabobs and they will add to the menu!

I found friends at Brookdale lake view that have similar interests as me. I like that Brookdale gives me a sense of independence and I can come go and go as a please. But if I ever needed anything they are always there when I need them.
