The staff are all very good. I'd give them a 5. As most facilities are, they are understaffed which unfortunately only hurts the residents. The activities and dining experience get a solid 4. To get a five they would have to be exceptional, which I think is difficult when you are cooking or planning activities for that many people. Overall I would give a 4.5, but that was not one of my options!

Assisted Living Facility Feedback Response Thank you for requesting feedback. I feel compelled to share our experience as it involves serious care concerns that need immediate attention. Overall Experience (Rating: 1/10) Our family has been deeply disappointed with the level of care provided. The combination of unresponsive staff, poor organization, and inadequate attention to residents' medical needs has created an unsafe environment for my mother and other residents. Quality of Care (Rating: 1/10) This is our most serious concern. My mother was recently transported to the hospital for severe anemia requiring a blood transfusion. The staff failed to recognize or adequately respond to her declining health condition. Call buttons go unanswered for 30+ minutes, leaving residents in distress and potentially dangerous situations. The staff appears undertrained and lacks the clinical skills necessary for proper resident care. Administrative Staff (Rating: 1/10) The facility director consistently makes excuses rather than taking responsibility for systemic problems. Instead of addressing legitimate concerns about care quality, the administrative response has been dismissive and defensive. This leadership approach prevents meaningful improvements to resident care. Cleanliness (Rating: 3/10) My mother's living space is consistently dirty despite paying for cleaning services. The housekeeping staff does not perform thorough cleaning, leaving surfaces dusty and bathrooms unsanitary. This creates health risks, particularly for elderly residents with compromised immune systems. Dining Experience (Rating: 1/10) The dining situation is unacceptable. Residents are required to sit in the dining room for up to one hour before food is served, which is particularly difficult for those with mobility issues or dementia. The food quality is poor, and the extended waiting times suggest serious organizational problems in the kitchen and meal service. Friendliness (Rating: 4/10) While some individual staff members show kindness, the overall atmosphere is one of rushed, stressed employees who cannot provide the personal attention residents deserve. Value for Money (Rating: 3/10) Given the high cost of assisted living and the poor quality of care received, this facility does not provide reasonable value. Families deserve professional, attentive care for their investment. Immediate Actions Needed 0. Staff training on emergency response and call button protocols 0. Improved medical monitoring and communication with families 0. Administrative accountability and leadership changes 0. Enhanced housekeeping standards and oversight 0. Reorganization of meal service timing and food quality The recent medical emergency involving my mother could have been prevented with proper attention to her care needs. I hope this feedback will lead to immediate improvements in care quality and safety protocols.

Location and availability. The director of sales was easy to work with. Combined activities for memory care and AL. There seems to be quite a lot of staff turn over. There is no specific director for memory care.

I have been pretty satisfied with the facility. The main thing that stuck out was that it does not smell. I used to service nursing homes and a lot of them. The smell of urine was very prevalent. I've never smelled that at Elan. Overall, I would recommend Elan WestPointe to others.

Unfortunately the management has undergone a complete turnover since just before Mom arrived in April, and they are still short-staffed. It seems they are trying to get into a better rhythm, so I am hopeful for the future.

We are terribly disappointed in the facilities. My wife's mother requires very little assistance in her daily life and we were looking for great food and a classy place to live. She has gotten NEITHER. They can't seem to hire the CHEF that the literature promises. The food is much less than adequate. At the moment, she has no hot water. Earlier this year it took months to fix leaks in her shower. We are going to take this up the Elan corporate ladder and will require verified improvements, or we will go after the refunds she deserves. The fees are far too high for bad food and very poor service.

It was all a 5, the best, and I am so thankful he had a beautiful place to stay with people that cared him the last 6 months of life. I especially loved the director, [name removed], who always had my back and watched out for him as well. Can't say enough good about them.

The community has been wonderful! The staff are exceptional and they catered to every need of my loved one. The staff were quick to respond to the call button requests by my loved one. The director is very nice and sweet. I can't say enough good things about the experience. The meals are outstanding. They kept my loved one's room very clean, and made sure to take my loved one down to the dining room for meals. The community worked well with hospice.

We really liked Elan Westpointe, the gal we were working with really went out of her way and was so accommodating and helpful. Unfortunately they were unable to administer my loved ones insulin the way it needed to be which is the only reason we did not end up here.

I would recommend Elan Westpointe to others. I'm unsure if this is due to the effects of Covid, but sometimes they are not as responsive to the alert pendant when its pressed. it's been a bit inconsistent and it may be related to staffing issues, and not so much the management. the only thing my loved one complains about is the food, but that's also subjective. despite those things, I would still recommend this community. the staff that I have interacted with seem very caring and concerned about the well being of their residents.

While I realize there is a pandemic that has made employee staffing a bit difficult. . . Elan Westpointe takes it to a new level. There is little to no housekeeping. (I do my mother's cleaning and laundry as well as changing sheets. I also provide this service for friends of hers without family to help them out.) Transportation to/from appointments hasn't been available since [date removed] when she moved in. Nursing staff is experiencing shortages. Several residents have been forced to hire private home health care. NO trips to grocery store - I shop for Mom and her friends. No/sporadic hair salon. No maintenance person on site. NO DISCOUNT IN RENT. *Staff that remains is amazing. *Activities depend on lockdown, ranges between 1 and 4 rating. *Meals are great when the chef is scheduled and cooks. Otherwise - hit or miss - mostly a MISS. They literally had to order out for pizza one night due to poor food. *Residents went 4 (or more) days without hot water. I feel so sorry for residents without family nearby to fill the "gaps." Disgraceful! Please RESEARCH.

We chose Elan Westpointe because they have a lot of activities in the memory care unit and they are well schooled in working with dementia patients. The staff are kind and the facility is very nice. The food here is very good and she enjoys is. It has seemed it took a while to get accustom to moms routine, but we are trending in the right direction. I would recommend them to any of my friends with parents who have dementia.

Elan is a great place for my mom. [Name removed] at a Place for Mom went out of her way to help me find this wonderful apartment style living for my mom. [Name removed] at Elan made my mom feel right at home. As any place, Elan has room for improvement, especially in the food services, but overall this was a very good decision for our family.
